There's no excuse for being as bad as they've been in a talent-rich area like New Orleans. Dissolve the football program and bring back engineering.

If lsu doesn’t win the west anytime soon, they should look into it

Strange time for this thread. Missed on a bowl last season by a hair and this year they are 1 win away from a bowl and they’ll be favored in that game.
Not exactly great but far from so bad they need to drop the program

They just waxed a pretty good USF team a couple weeks ago...a USF who was without question better coached and infinitely more talented than them.

I wish LSU still played Tulane. I enjoyed the after game fight in 1984

And last year they beat Houston with Ed Oliver playing. Houston is not good because of Ed Oliver, they’re strength is offense.

Tulane doesn’t care about winning.

It’s the perfect situation for a school that has no chance of winning.

The few people who do go to the games have a good time, win or lose, and the students and rest of the people in New Orleans don’t even know they exist.

It’s the perfect setup for what it is, actually.

Why would they get rid of it?

This is definitely true, though with the new AD and President the level of care and competence has gone up a little bit from Dickson and Cowen.

They could certainly be much better than they are if they really cared. A good school in a good location.

Most of the area kids can't get in because of academics. Tulane doesn't give many academic exemptions to their football team.

Tulane belongs in the Southland Conference. They would have success there.
