Yulman and the lack of a decent basketball facility hurt their chances of getting into any of the P5's without some upgrades.

Again, what do they have to offer either league? A TV market? N.O. brings, in comparison to almost every body, almost zero viewers. It's a Saints city, with the balance being LSU viewers as it is LSU's largest instate alumni base.

So Tulane would have beat Bama, LSU, UGA, and name any other 4 SEC teams.... come on

Central Florida would be much more deserving and they are still a hard NO.

But I don't think Tulane increases the tv revenue enough for it to be worthwhile for the other teams.
But they offer New Orleans as a road trip (NOLA still has a good brand name), and they offer a recruiting pipeline into Louisiana.
Conferences care about academics, and Tulane would raise the Big XII's academic profile.

It really makes some people feel uneasy that a team that is not part of the Boys Club has the talent to hang around and beat a USC team that had a month to prepare for them. Here’s your next thread topic to help with your insecurity: “What would have Tulane’s record been with LSU’s conference schedule?”
Can’t wait to see the LSU brains melt next year when Tulane beats OM and then OM turns around and beats LSU three weeks later.

"New Orleans would watch Tulane vs whoever in the SEC"? LSU has always had more fans in the Dome than weenies. If they won't support a game against LSU, their blood rival, how many fans would see the weenies play Missouri, S. Carolina etc.? Even when the 2 Mississippi schools play in the Dome, both schools bring more fans than the weenies. New Orleans has never supported the weenies.

Tulane fits a raided PAC or ACC. They are a terrible fit for the SEC or XII.

They probably realize it doesn’t create positive revenue so why have it. Seems kind of smart to me.
To promote your brand across all sports. Women’s softball is gaining popularity quickly.

Felt like this was a softball tossed up by the OP to get some people to shite all over Tulane’s Athletic program and to take away some of the shine from what the football team accomplished yesterday.
Pretty obvious when the SEC was thrown in there that OP is trolling. I’d love to see Tulane get a P5 invite but the administration would have to make some serious investments into athletics. We’ll see if that ever happens

Tulane was a charter member of the SEC.

If new Orleans has so many sec fans, why not just play conference games in dome or smoothie king arena

Big12 is the only possibility.

The big 12. No different than having Cincy in the conference. But I don't think Tulane increases the tv revenue enough for it to be worthwhile for the other teams.
Cincinnati (46,000 Students) is a LOT larger of a school than many people realize. It is also in a much bigger CSA Metro as well. I just do not see these two schools as being even remotely similar at the moment. Once Cincinnati, UCF and Houston all leave for the Big 12...Tulane (14k Students) should stay in the AAC and see if they can become a program like Cincinnati. A program that builds sustained success and grows its fan base. Until then, Tulane isn't on any P5 radar. Become the G5 Power for the next 5-10 years and then swing for the Big 12.

Except UCF IS going to the Big 12...you are aware of this right?

Yes
Vanderbilt needs someone to take their place as a bottom dweller.

To answer the OP's question - yes, Tulane should get an invite to either conference. Thanks for the awareness.
