This is the slippery slope Cuban was talking about. I have no problem with it if they use fair judgement and everyone is held to the same standard. Example - if a player (black or white) is caught making racist comments toward an entire race, they should be kicked out of the league

You are quite angry about this whole situation

Correct me if I'm wrong but Jay-Z never said frick white people or any other racist remarks. He wore a five percent nation chain which is some group that believes the black man is God.
I don't see how that's racist. Maybe I just don't understand what the five percent nation group is.

I bet there are white players who are thinking, "What about some of this racist crap I have to put up with?". Back when Steve Nash and Dirk were playing together in Dallas, Kevin Blackistone wrote an article about some of what they had to put up with.
But, of course, THAT'S DIFFERENT.
Is there video or audio of these events? Not saying it didnt happen, but it is different when you provide concrete proof

IMO they should paint the basketball black to promote anti-racism.

Not true. White people are held to a higher standard when regarding racism tho

Kobe called a ref a "fig" once…or something similar.
I think we should go ahead and ban him forever.

Do you believe there is no double standard?

NO. We need to keep this in the forefront for a long as possible that way ANYONE who does something racists gets the same treatment.

I mean come on. Yall are acting ridiculous. The CEO of Professional Womens Magazine cant say women dont associate me outside of the kitchen and expect nothing to happen to them.
ETA I mean heck look at all the crap that rained down on Nagin after the "choclate city" comment. You cant make huge racist/sexist insults as someone IN CHARGE and get away with it. Especially when it affects the bottom line of those who are above you.

Woah. I am ecstatic that Sterling got the ouster. He is a POS that got what was coming to him. There is no room in this world for hate. I want all the other POSs in the world to get whats coming to them.
Posted on 4/29/14 at 5:27 pm to LaBornNRaised
People are completely losing their shite today.

You seem adamant that that he was a victim of a double standard and the quoted post seemed sarcastic. Correct me if Im wrong.

Of course there is
Is that supposed to make me feel sympathetic towards Sterling? The guy is a POS and deserves what he got.
Some of the rationalizations people are trying to make here are just dumb.

I think the funniest part in all this is certain people acting as if this is Sterling's first and only situation that brought the NBA to this point. I'm fairly sure had he done this and not had all the backlash from the previous situation he would not be looking at anywhere near what he is. He was probably treading on thin nice long before this.

But, but, but... the NAACP gave him an award!!! Its impossibe for him to be racist now!!!

Isn't he though? I think most are fine with ousting the POS, but don't apply the rule selectively. If a black athlete, sponsor, or associate to the NBA does the same thing, they should be ousted or banned. Spike Lee, for example, has not been caught saying things to his side piece, but has done even worse. He's caught on record multiple times endorsing racists hate and violence for it.
In the end, if you want equality, then that is the price of it.
