Because they have great ownership. True.

Do you think the NBA likes that?

This predates Balmer, when they had the worst owner in the NBA not named George Shinn.

Clippers were 4th in the West in 2013 and Lakers were 7th.

This isn't 1980 anymore and the NBA doesn't care.

If they did, the actual #1 market wouldn't have a 20-year history of poverty franchises.

Perhaps you haven’t seen all of the headlines this year about the league dying. They are getting hammered in the ratings. Just getting crushed. All kinds of think pieces and panic articles.

And this happens out of nowhere.

Logically it’s just a coincidence. But it’s pretty goddamn coincidental.

Welp - My Mavericks will revert back to irrelevance for the next (at least) 10 years.

It was fun with Dirk the Luka

Cuban would have never done this but he was too preoccupied with becoming Rachel Maddow's Twink.

The Clippers got their starting center in a trade that was regarded by many as a complete steal. They only gave up Mike Muscala, an afterthought from the trade that sent Tobias Harris to Philadelphia.

According to the report, the Clippers had not even contacted them about the 21-year-old. Instead, the Lakers reached out to the Clippers and made the offer, which the Clips front office accepted.

Later that evening, West (a former Laker himself), along with friends who were connected to the Lakers one way or another, met for dinner. It was at this dinner that he and his friends laughed at the ineptitude of the Lakers

This is why I’ve basically given up on the nba and haven’t really watched a single full game on TV. They are just blatant it’s retarded. Oh the leagues best player on the league’s premier team is 40 and about to retire? Let’s send them a 25 year old MVP entering his prime for pretty much nothing. So absurd.

Same, glad I haven’t invested 30 minutes of time into this season. shite like this validates that for me

Almost like the league intentionally keeps proping up the LA market… magic, kareem, Kobe, shaq, Lebron, and now luka.

The Mavs clearly think they're in win-now mode and AD is still one of the top 10 guys in the NBA. There aren't many guys in that tier of player available.

If Luka is on the table I would assume the majority of the top 10 players in the league are available for him. V

They already have their media rights deals for like a decade.

And Doncic going to LAL isn't going to magically make the ratings better for the whole league, especially since he's still hurt.

And the Lakers just raised the white flag and are in a rebuilding mode.

Wemby: no
Jokic: no
Giannis: no
SGA: no
Tatum: no

The only 2 guys left before AD are Durant/Curry.

Brunson: You'd think yes, but he's a NY guy and Luka would not work on their roster construction

Anthony Edwards: Likely no due to age

Paulo? Probably no

Dmitch, KAT, Jaylen Brown, Ja, Booker: yes, but we're in the "Would DAL say yes?" area

One round of semiglutides and the Lakers have a 25 year old potential all time player for a 31 year old center.

This is the moronic stuff people who don't watch the league say.

AD is literally the best defensive player in the league had been carrying the lakers and Dallas also got a great young defensive SG.

Mavs have an actually team that can win it all right now.

However because Luka can drop 50 around his injury layoffs from eating too much and drink hard he somehow is this all-timer

fricking morons.

I have to imagine this is a declaration of war on Lebron, but he has to agree to waive his no trade clause. I think only Lebron and Beal have them.

Shams just said "most stunning trade in NBA history" on Sportscenter.

It was wild waking up to this news and reading the thread. People assumed Shams got hacked.
