LSU is not getting in baw

LSU has no business being anywhere near the playoff.

But the OPs premise still stands. And Bama is the only team where the CCG doesn’t matter.

Edit: All that being said, Bama is likely going to curb stomp UGA and may have no more than 20 points scored against them in the two playoff games combined. There’s a lot to bitch about Bama. This year really isn’t it.

A bogus narrative.

If Alabama and UGA's positions were reversed, it would be UGA that was a lock and second loss would doom Alabama.

Alabama puts themselves in favorable positions by not losing many games.

That is exactly right.

The Eye test seems to be more important than what actually happens on the field.

Which is ruining college football to me...........even though I still spend thousands on season tickets each year.

LOL.

This is so awesome.

So basically UGA has to beat Bama Saturday...

For the right to rematch Bama in the playoff.

If UGA loses, they are out (due to two losses). Wonder if UGA and Bama were both unbeaten going into Saturday if UGA would get the same treatment?

I already know the answer.

That's hilarious.

Well, yes, I would hope if Bama had two losses at the end of this weekend they would be eliminated.

However, if both Bama and UGA were both unbeaten coming into the weekend, UGA doesn't have the brand to overcome a CCG loss like Bama. UGA would go to the Sugar Bowl with one loss.

All else equal this year, yes they would.

Yes because 1 of those 2 teams didn’t have to play in it.

It certainly hurt them in 94. #3 and 11-0 and lost to 9-1-1 Florida by 1 point.

It’s not popular but I wish we’d get away from divisions (you can even keep a traditional rivalry game on your schedule and rotate the rest) and rotate teams every year. Then have the top 2 teams play at the end of the season.

3 annual rivalry games. 5 other teams one year, the other 5 rotated the following year. You play every team in the conference at least every other year

I think the best bet would be to say no one gets in the playoffs unless they win their conference, period.

If the officials become anti-bama for a whole game Georgia might win and then the SEC will have 2 teams in the Final Four.

They don’t? What if Alabama had 1 loss like Georgia? You’re implying that they would get in with two losses, which is just your gaping slit bleeding.

LSU fans, say it with me, stop thinking about Alabama. You are in the same conference, but you aren’t in the same league.

Not at all what he's saying.

However. I thought having less annual rivalry games would make a more balanced schedule across the years for everyone. I’d actually like to see every power 5 team play another power 5 team and then two other ooc (cupcakes/non power 5) tobfobwith 9 conference games each year.

I like the idea of more conference games.

Best why?

Are you unaware that some years the two best are in same conference?

Let conferences enjoy the hoopla but pit the 4 best in cfp.

I do not care if Utah or washington wins pac12.

If nw beats the Ohio should nw be in serious discussion as 4 best?

not the first time conference title games have screwed teams out of a title game, 2 examples from Big12

Kansas st got screwed by losing to aTm in big12 title game

Missouri would of went to BCS title game, had they not had to face OU in big12 title game.

it happens

Georgia and Auburn- are hurt by playing the extra game.

Did you cry for Bama in 1992 when they almost suffered their 1st loss of the season to an 8-3 Florida team

What about in 2008 when a 1 loss UF team beat unbeaten Alabama knocking them out of the BCSNCG

The reason why everyone thinks Bama should be in after a loss this weekend is because they have yet to win a game by less than 24. Whereas Oklahoma struggled against 6-6 Ok State, Army, 3-9 Kansas, and 5-7 Texas Tech and Ohio State struggled against 6-6 TCU, 5-7 Maryland, 6-6 Purdue, and 4-8 Nebraska. You dipshits want every week to matter but want to ignore teams that looked bad for a 3rd of the season

My point is this is 2 years in a row (and maybe further back), teams already in the playoff - Georgia and Auburn- are hurt by playing the extra game.

Auburn was not a lock for the playoffs last season. They had 2 losses. Winning the SECCG was the only thing that would have gotten them in.

Take away the SECCG and LSU probably doesn't have a national title since 1958.

Take away the Big 12 championship game in 2007 and Missouri finishes the season #1 in the country. No LSU.

OP didn't think this through very well.

And let’s not forget 2008 where Alabama was undefeated and ranked #1 before losing in the SECCG to a one loss Florida team. Did Alabama get in then? No! It cost us a shot at the national title.
