My point is this is 2 years in a row (and maybe further back), teams already in the playoff - Georgia and Auburn- are hurt by playing the extra game.

And the same rules dont apply to Bama.

I wish these teams getting screwed out of the playoff would step up and say no more.

College Football is so frustrating with all of the changing rules and Blue Blood love..

They don’t? What if Alabama had 1 loss like Georgia? You’re implying that they would get in with two losses, which is just your gaping slit bleeding.

LSU fans, say it with me, stop thinking about Alabama. You are in the same conference, but you aren’t in the same league.

The title game helped elevate the SEC.

So no.

Take away the SECCG and LSU probably doesn't have a national title since 1958.

It’s not popular but I wish we’d get away from divisions (you can even keep a traditional rivalry game on your schedule and rotate the rest) and rotate teams every year. Then have the top 2 teams play at the end of the season.

I wish all conferences would do that. It’s be a massive expansion of the playoffs without having to actually expand them.

The SECCG is the reason the SEC got two teams in last year

Georgia would not have been in the playoff last year before the SECCG.

People bitch about this stuff entirely too much. It’s not like teams in them don’t have time to rest in between.

Totally agree. It doesn't make sense to me that you can allow a team from a down division to sneak into the championship game with maybe 4 losses, with the chance to pull an upset, while a couple of teams with better records sit at home.

I'll add to the above and say eliminate cupcake games so the teams can play more conference games. It would make the regular season much more exciting removing those 3-4 "gimme" games.

The better argument from last year is probably Wisconsin. They are in for sure at 12-0 over Bama. They played OSU, got outplayed badly (score was close), and had that L which let Bama in

They don’t?

It's ok for Bama fans to admit that you don't play by the same rules as everyone else. No one would fault you for it.

what?

Last year OSU is in easily over bama if they 1)only have 1 loss instead of 2, 2)dont' get murdered by a mediocre iowa. Either of those 2 scenarios happen and bama is out. Don't blame bama for last year, blame OSU.

This year bama is out if they lose to UGA, barring both OU and OSU both losing games they shouldn't. If that does happen, again...blame OU/OSU and not bama.

I wouldn't be placing any money on that wager.

Georgia wins..............they are in............but so is Bama.

Bama wins............they are in..............but Georgia isnt in.

It doesn't help Georgia (and last year Auburn and Wisconsin) to play in these games AT ALL.............they would be in if the season ended today.

But ALL lose and the are out. Unless you are Bama............they are in no matter what.

And this has nothing to do with LSU at all...........this is all about the teams getting hosed by the stupid Championship games.

It helps just as many teams get into the playoff as it hurts those playing

Got OSU in in 2014
Got MSU in in 2015
Got UGA in in 2017

It hurts some teams every year and helps some teams every year

For example, this year could help UGA, hurt OSU/OU or hurt UGA and help OU/OSU

It's the only conference adversely affected by the playoff system every year.

College football has tangible championships and intangible championships.

1 kind is when you win your division, which everyone plays one another and you advance.

The other has a 10 week committee taking in different variables that might be out of your control(a team you played shitting the bed the rest of the year) and compares you to teams you never see or prepare for...and even then every year there is controversy.

I’d argue conference titles are truer to the spirit of competition.

But everyone sees things differently.

WTF it's the only conference to get 2 teams in in any season. By that definition it has been helped the most by the conference title game.

It's an absurd argument. The SEC champ has been in the playoffs every year, with a 2nd team in one year
