It kind of sounds like Rusillo is ready to move on and not play second fiddle to SVP.

I think it's more of the ESPN higher ups that still see him as a back up to SVP and feels disrespected by that. I don't think he feels like Scott or us listeners feel that way

He basically said that ESPN does not feel like the show will be successful without the SVP name in it.

Which is why I said it sounds like he's ready to move on, meaning to get the respect he deserves.

SVP's move to midnight sportscenter still doesn't make sense. To me it sounds like that would be a demotion. Isn't he one of their highest paid guys? why would they move him to do sportscenter at a time slot that has the least amount of viewers?

Midnight sportscenter still makes more money than mid day sports talk

A ton of rusillos "arrogance" is just dry sarcasm IMO

This. I guess that's why I like him because I have similar type of humor and recognize his as not being arrogant, just screwing around.

That's exactly what I meant by playing second fiddle to SVP.

Seems like the ESPN brass wanted them to be more revenue generators than dudes talking sports. Glad they decided to quit rather than change

This is why ESPN Radio is unlistenable. It's not about quality, it's about cross promotion. Not good enough to put out a good product, the brass there would rather you shill for whatever controversy or "news" ESPN is trying to mandate that day.

Maybe he went to the no bucket too often, and is being disciplined.

There are times where it's not just his dry humor and he's legit douchey, but I still like him better than pretty much everyone else. I actually prefer him more than SVP but not by much.

I'm not saying that's not true, because I have no clue. But that just seems hard to believe.

they were definitely giving a "they still don't get it type vibe"

Unfortunately, the type of people who appreciate a show like their's don't mean jack shite to ESPN because they know that person will be watching regardless of what dog shite they trot out there.

Gotta remember that's the 11pm SC here...which is immediately following all major sporting events at night...
