Should have been fired last year. Now they have another wasted season.
The problem last year was who would take the Nebraska HC job? This year is a wait and see approach.

How he kept his job after ending the season with that collapse against Iowa last year is a mystery
Got a pass because of the Covid season but more importantly they're desperate. Frost is the prodigal son, a Nebraska native who was QB during their glory days. The feeling is that if he can't do it, then who can?
Mullen or Urban?

Why stop there? See what he did? He is gone!

15-30 now at Nebraska. Pelini was fired for going 66-28.
So if Frost won his next 50 games in a row, he would still have a worse record at Nebraska, (65-30), than Bo did
Don't you think Bo is laughing so hard right now?

ETA: Didn't a couple of LSU players/commits bolt to Nebraska? I know DeColdest Crawford decommitted from LSU in favor of Nebraska, but weren't there others
Trey Palmer . He actually started or was in the immediate rotation and played pretty well

Frost’s buyout goes from $15 million to $7.5 million on Oct 2.

Completely agree should have been fired after last year. No, their season is already lost and might be behind the 8 ball again.

At some point it's not just on the players...this is on him and his staff.

There has never been a team in CFB that has lost 9 straight games by single digits.
This is on coaching.
Frost is a recruiter. Nebraska took in 15 transfers this off-season.
Yet the team, despite the talent, remains a head-case.

People forget that Frost was an absolute home run hire at the time.
Right. Everybody piles on now as if Frost was always a bad coach who knows nothing, but he was successful previously. And after firing Solich and Pelini maybe Nebraska is thinking they need to be more patient with coaches bc the grass is not always greener.

Meh. Pelini HAD to be fired. He literally gave them no other choice.
The guy they should have hired at least 2 different occasions was Kyle Whittingham. He begged for the job many, many times and couldn't even get a returned phone call.

Looking back he only had 2 years experience. He never showed an ability to sustain anything. O'Leary took UCF to 12-1 with a Fiesta Bowl win with Bortles. 2 years later he went 0-12 and was done. Frost bolted while on top.
It looked good at the time, I think him being a former QB at Nebraska during their prime made the hire a little more rosey as well.

quote:IMO, not stupid at all, if you've seen something that tells you you can 100% do it. You ride the momentum, twist the knife and make the other team quit right there.
I didn't watch the game, but just read Nebraska did an on-sides kick after going up two scores on N'western. How stupid is that?
But you gotta know you can do it, not take a crapshoot chance, and you've got to execute -- that was the stupid part.

Well, nobody's perfect.

It was a risky hire because of his lack of experience and some coaches that come out of the AAC were getting exposed. He isn't power five head coaching material.
You can win at Nebraska but some of these ADs are bad and they make these hires like they draw numbers in bingo.

Kiffin isn't leaving an SEC job for Nebraska.

Always impossible to answer this early. You never know the names that will get hot.
