Why are his followers dumbasses but the ones that said all of this political stance and announcement on jerseys, courts, post game press conferences would have minimal to no impact on viewership not?

I’m not saying that was the main driver, I’m saying why is the side you disagree with dumb asses?

Sports used to not be on TV so let's not get too crazy with saying these are record low ratings considering rating used to be 0.

2 things:

Hockey was never proclaimed to be taking over the popularity/throne position of the NFL or football in general

People
Covering the NHL, namely ESPN, didn’t ram politics down the viewers throats like stations, again namely ESPN, did with basketball.

That’s why nobody gives a frick about hockey.

As long as you don’t speak out against China at all right? How was the viewership in China this year?

This weekend:

- 9.7m viewers for Georgia-Alabama

- FOX+CBS Sunday NFL viewing basically flat with last year’s Week 6

- 10.2m viewers for NLCS Game 7

Closest thing to a normal sports weekend in seven months, right?

These are historically low ratings that have never been seen before.

It is neck and neck with MLB for 3rd place.

MLB revenue is closer to NFL revenue than the NBA is to MLB.

quote:

The NFL, or National Football League, is undoubtedly at the top in the United States as American Football brings in over $13 billion in Revenue.

In second place is the MLB, or Major League Baseball, with a total revenue amount of $9.5 billion.

The NBA, or National Basketball Association, between the United States and Canada brings in a total of $4.8 billion in revenue.

The NHL, or National Hockey League, between Canada and the United States brings in a total of $3.7 billion in revenue

Comparing anything recent in the NBA to Jordan’s last game seems a little bit of a reach

Comparing anything on tv now and to the 90s pretty stupid

76.3 Million people watched the Seinfeld finale. It was regularly pulling in 20-30 million thru it’s whole run. A network tv show couldn’t even dream of numbers like that now.

Funny Clay Travis didn’t mention that the MLB playoffs have had historically bad numbers with some games not even hitting 1 million viewers.

Dude is so slanted he is the national enquirer of sports journalism

None of those historic NBA games people keep throwing out were played out of season. This year is an exception with events happening outside the normal window and structure.

For context the most watched NBA game since Jordan retired was Lebron and Cleveland winning the title.

Anyone trying to judge a sport this year (either by praise or condemnation) is being disingenuous at best.

I am no tv executive but maybe try not putting start times at 940 eastern for a fricking baseball game.

If baseball wants to stay relevant they need to grow in the sunbelt, imo. It’s where the sport is a year round thing for kids growing up.
