The only active player sacked more than Russell is Rodgers. There is a good shot if both are their teams' starter one could pass by Brady for the record. Rodgers only leads Wilson by 4.

Steelers

Can someone tell me why they let Kenny Picket go? I hope I spelled his name right. I’m talking about the kid from Pittsburgh University. Does Tomlin think Justin Fields is better?

They brought Wilson in ideally, to help mature Pickett and pair him with a guy whos been around for several years. The idea was to light a fire under Pickett and give him someone to compete with.

What happened was Pickett threw what could only be described as a giant tantrum and thought that the starting job was his and that he shouldn't have to compete. The Steelers shipped him off just a few days after.

Wilson the most overated players in the history of the NFL. He was carried by that great D in Seattle. Other than that what has he really done except fail.

Watching my Niners get tortured by him every year, I'll have to disagree. He was as much a part of their SB runs as the defense. When he was good, he was really good.

But now? He looks like the fat corpse of Russel Wilson trying to play QB.

Russ has always been an "Improviser" at QB, to steal the CFB 25 parlance. He will always hold the ball longer, to try and make something happen. He's going to take sacks. He's clearly uncomfortable trying to learn another new system, trying to make too much happen...and this season is going to be an unmitigated disaster for Russ and the Steelers.

Pete...you stubborn old poon hound...this never had to happen. You could have drafted offensive linemen for him, protected him, and let him go up tempo in the first half. But you didn't. You drafted projects (started them like everything was fine) and d-line converts to play O-line, nearly got Russ killed, and scripted the first half like you purposefully wanted to lose every game.

Nobody won here. Pete got told to step down or get fired. Russ is trying to remake his magic a decade too late outside of Seattle and it's embarrasng. And...we still have Geno Smith as our starting QB. I hate Pete Carroll so damn much.

Tomlin's best hope is getting the top 5 overall pick so he can draft their next QB. If they finish middle of the pack then he's gone.

Remember when I was against both of these moves from the start and said that Wilson was washed and Fields can't play and I was ridiculed and told that I'm a moron amongst other things?

I remember. Classic case of what is right isn't always popular.

Not me. And I was blasted for it.

We are the only two on here who thought this and we are going to end up being right.

I mean it kind of is. They need to punt on a season. Clear out back contracts, get some good draft picks and go from there. He refuses to do the obvious. I’m generally a guy who believes you should do everything you can to put out the best, most competitive team you can year in and year out but sometimes you have to sacrifice one season to help you build the best roster for your next 5-6 after that.

Khan is still cleaning up Kevin Colbert's(previous GM) mess. The fact Tomlin even made the playoffs w/those rosters is a testament to his abilities as a coach.

I thought you would apricate this stat.
Last year only one QB had a worse 2nd half sack rate than Wilson, it was Justin Fields.

There’s a certain group of posters here who will go to WAR with anyone who disparages a black QB

And despite what the OSU fans will tell you, Fields is a terrible NFL qb.

That's all that needs to be said.

I don't know if this is completely true but there is a modicum of truth in this.

IT'S PRESEASON. Jesus Christ. Pittsburgh will be fine. They always have been well coached. Even Bubby Brister and Mark Malone had success.
