I predict within 10 years there will be two major conferences like in the NFL and the players will be paid. It will no longer be college football, it will be semi pro football in old college uniforms.

Make this happen Delaney!! The B1G is the next conference that's TV deals are up in 22' i believe and that leaves them in a prime positon to be the first conference to strike deals with the future of college football in mind. Form this conference, make deals with already established FOX/BTN...and be the first conference to make deals with Amazon, YouTube and Facebook or whoever, to stream B1G games. In the playoff era, the B1G champion would be guaranteed a spot with the addition of Texas and Oklahoma. B1G then leads the way by being the first conference to go to a 10 game schedule. Play all 7 teams in the division and 3 cross over games. The EAST/WEST would be so balanced with that set up. Every week there would be 4-5 MUST watch games. Revenue could skyrocket for each school. B1G would be on the TV sets of every home in NYC, Philadelphia, Chicago, Dallas and Houston.

EAST:

Ohio State
Penn State
Michigan
Michigan State
Indiana
Purdue
Maryland
Rutgers

WEST:

Texas
Oklahoma
Nebraska
Wisconsin
Iowa
Minnesota
Northwestern
Illinois

I've wondered for awhile what would happen to the Big 12 if Texas and OU were to leave. Would the rest soak up the AAC? If Notre Dame ever committed to the ACC and joined for football, the league should invite West Virginia.

Atlantic
Clemson
Florida State
Louisville
NC State
Syracuse
Boston College
Wake Forest
Notre Dame

Coastal
Miami
Virginia Tech
Virginia
Georgia Tech
Pittsburgh
North Carolina
Duke
West Virginia

Notre Dams plays most of these schools yearly anyways. I understand though they will never give up their sweetheart deal with NBC so this is all a pipedream

They already play 3 Midwest teams in Kansas, k state, and Iowa state. Plus WVU is out there and Texas Tech is basically a tortilla factory in New Mexico.

I was, however, under the impression Oklahoma wouldn’t leave without OSU.

God, I would love this so much. Getting to play Texas and Nebraska every year would be fantastic. That also gives me a trip to Madison, Chicago, and the Twin Cities every other year.

They keep their red river rivalry game in Dallas and they play games in Columbus, Ann Arbor, Happy Valley, East Lansing, Madison, Minneapolis, Lincoln, Evanston (Chicago), Piscataway (NYC), College Park (DC). I'm pretty sure that trumps Manhattan, Lawrence, Ames, Lubbock, and Waco. Oklahoma agrees to play Okie State every year and Texas schedules non-conference every year with some schools in Texas like Houston, Baylor, TCU, SMU, Tech, and Rice in a rotation and everyone is happy.

You’re not wrong, but don’t lump Ames in with these shitholes.

Yea. Outside of the pac 12 falling apart we are pretty much set at what we have for another 7/8 years

The PAC-12 is already firmly into midmajor status and is just a vehicle for Larry Scott and his cronies to enrich themselves. The soon it collapses, the better.

And the PAC-12 should consider (when the GoR ends) adding Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Iowa State.

Add four states to the PAC Network profile. Two football programs, one basketball program, and to keep the academics happy three AAU members (OU is the only one which is not a member).

I'm sure Nebraska's overwhelming success in the Big Ten has not gone unnoticed in Austin and Norman. Plus Nebraska joined the Big Ten because they were tired of everything going through Texas in the Big 12. I'm sure they would be overjoyed having to be in the same division as them in the Big Ten.

I think they banned the tortilla throwing too. That was the only reason I was somewhat excited to go. Not that it would’ve happened. ISU blew them the frick out the only time I was there.

I don't think Ohio St., Michigan, Oklahoma, or Texas would necessarily be overjoyed with this. Maybe throw Penn St. in there too. All those teams are used to being the big dogs in their conference where a bad season is going 9-3 (I know reality check in Austin and Happy Valley but that is still their mindset.) Those programs won't be real crazy about having teams that could be 11-1 in the regular season if half of them were in one conference and half another but when all four or five are in the same conference at best four out of the five are going to be 9-3 or 8-4 and in a real balanced cannibalistic season all of them may end up that way.

P5 conferences will successfully petition the ncaa to eliminate the divisional round robin rule, allowing them to expand beyond 14 and still have their championship games without sacrificing rivalries.

PAC-12, eager to establish itself in the central time zone to increase viewers, will expand to 20 with the additions of Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas Tech, TCU, and Baylor. Iowa State and West Virginia will be left out, hoping to be included in other conferences expanding so they don’t have to settle for AAC.

That's because the Big 12 didn't have equal revenue sharing and Nebraska was sick of it. The B1G is the next conference whos TV rights expire. By adding Texas and Oklahoma, the B1G puts itself in a position to be the first conference to make deals with the future of streaming services. Like i said, resign the traditional mega deals with FOX/BTN. Then be the first conference to sign deals with Netflix, Amazon, YouTube and Facebook. With programs like Ohio State, Michigan, Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Penn State.....the conference could stand to make Billions....yes Billions with a B. THATS why this is a serious conversation. Not to mention, the playoff committee would almost assuredly look at that strength of the B1G differently with that kind of strength of schedule. A 2 loss conference champion would be in the conversation every year. This kind of agreement could set the template for the next 20-30 years of college football and revenue sharing. Make it happen Delaney!!

Think he meant WVU is out there as in way outside of the rest of the Big 12 footprint geographically. He said 3 midwest teams and mentioned Kansas, K-State and Iowa State.
