I don't think you'll find any Rockets fans acting like this is the same Dwight from even just a couple years ago.
His athleticism is gone now. He is still athletic, but doesn't have his super-human athleticism anymore that deterred players from challenging him inside and he can't alter shots like he used to.
His time as an elite player is over.

Boom wants to build around him

Struggling to decipher that one myself.
It's cause you're a f*cking idiot.
The head coach is calling the team broken, and you have Jason Terry cursing in the hallway about the team having no chemistry.
But you're right... it's a tough one to see.

Miami would have to throw in some serious salary filler to make it work. Dwight makes 24 mill, Whiteside makes 900k.
Dragic will be included in the trade package if they trade for Howard. Of course that deal wouldn't make any sense for the Rockets. Dragic and Wade haven't played well together. A Dragic/Harden backcourt would be even worse.

Let's assume this is possible (even though it seems impossible with the salary discrepancy) - are Wade and Bosh going to be willing to subserve their egos to Howard's? Because Howard was clearly not willing to play Robin with the beard.

Dwight Howard could be moved by Thursday's trade deadline. Miami is talking with Houston about a deal that would include Hassan Whiteside
Can't wait...the idea that a team exhibiting no chemistry would combat that by acquiring Whiteside...

Apparently that line of thinking is confusing to some people

Never underestimate the heart of a Southwest Division Champion.

Would like to see Philly get involved in a 3 team
Absorb salary. Pick up Dragic. Throw in a Sacramento pick swap

The interesting thing is, who else would be involved. My money is on Ty Lawson being in there as well
Dwight+Ty Lawson to Miami
Dragic+Deng+McRoberts+Whiteside to Houston
miami gets the center they want with less headcase and a PG that might work with wade.
houston gets the secondary playmaker they wanted when they acquired lawson, get a young center with tons of upside, and an expiring deng that would give them depth. Mcroberts is just there as filler.
you could think about including a 3rd team to send deng to that needs a SF.

Miami isn't giving up all of that.

Whiteside has cancer?
For real though, I don't know if I want Whiteside as a Rockets fan. He is ridiculously talented and gets triple doubled with blocks...but he seems like a headcase. I don't know if a headcase would fit in well with the Rockets right now.

Howard would immediately go from a top 5 center of all time.

to a boarderline top 25, according to some rockets fan on this board

For all the shitting on Dwight here in this thread, let's see this for what it is: Pat fricking Riley would give up a younger cheaper very talented center for Dwight Howard of all people because Whiteside is such a poor teammate and his attitude sucks.
Morey is the guy who takes no stock into team chemistry (as evident by his current roster).
