Granted he was wearing a shirt and sombrero on the scale, but Ruiz (33-1, 22 KOs), 30, of Imperial, California, weighed a staggering 283.7 pounds. It is the heaviest that Ruiz, who is generously listed at 6-foot-2, has weighed in at during his 10-year career since he was in the mid-290s for his first two professional fights.

No heavyweight has ever entered a title defense heavier except for 7-footer Nikolay Valuev, who was at least 310.75 pounds for each of the defenses he made over two title reigns in the 2000s.

Meanwhile, 6-6 Joshua (22-1, 21 KOs) weighed in at a rock-solid 237 pounds. The 30-year-old from England, who is always in fine condition, has trimmed down from the first fight (247.75) but was still ripped.

Damn, I had been hearing Ruiz was slimming down. Guess those reports were off, lol.

Looking forward to this fight.

AJ will probably try and keep him at distance this time so he doesn't eat them combos.

283??? That’s insane; wasn’t he around 265 for the first fight?

I think he was 268 for the first fight.

So Joshua -10lbs and Ruiz +15lbs. That is probably not a good sign, although it doesn’t fix Joshua’s glass jaw

Buster Douglas against Evander Holyfield all over again. Joshua will KO this guy within three rounds.

Same thing I thought.
I already expected AJ to box Ruiz's ears off this time.
AJ has no chin, but will fight smarter than the first fight.

Unless Ruiz was wearing 30pd chains under there he sure didn't slim down.

1st fight was pretty damn entertaining, hope this one is as well.

his power won't go away

hopefully he didn't get dropped in training this week and come into the fight with a concussion like last time

I don't think he was questioning his physical power, he was questioning his will power

When butterbean started tagging Joshua on the chin in the last one he looked a lot more interested in getting tf out of the ring than fighting back.

da fuq is this? Are you being serious? Joshua better hope he can box all 12 rounds because if Ruiz catches that chin it is going to be lights out...again.

He won't let Ruiz get in close like last time. His chin has never been great but dude was clearly not all there during the last fight.

Ruiz is quick and a sneaky counter puncher with power. Joshua has a suspect chin and little heart. Might go the same way it went last time.

Ruiz has been partying a lot. I know a guy that has worked security for some private events he has had.
