By the time this series is over, Jordan will also be rumored to have a cure for cancer.

Jordan could have been an All Pro WR if he wanted to.

I don't know why this would shock anyone given how athletic he was.

NBA players are the biggest freakshow athletes in pro sports

College Jordan probably could stay sub 4.5. I don't find it that shocking at all.

Williams added that, in addition to getting faster between his first and second year on campus, he grew another 1 1/2 inches to 6-foot-6.

What a competitor! He willed himself to grow taller!

It always seems like the late-bloomers became the GOATs.

I was watching a documentary (I think it was Dr. J.) and he says he grew 6-inches his senior year in high school. Wut? You're 18.

Who grows 6-inches at the age of 18????

Shite, usually it's like whatever height you're at 13-14, 15, 16 that's gonna be it.

Larry Bird also grew in College...just weird.

The same people going into full meltdown over these comments were the same types arguing Wilt Chamberlin could run 4.5 a couple weeks ago lol.

And not long ago we had a thread about Lebron where many stated he could probably run a 4.4.

I think Durant grew a lot, too. In the Jordan doc, they said Pippen grew several inches over the summer after his freshman year.

I think my max was growing 4 inches in one year during puberty and these dudes are growing that much and more just during the summer when they are already 19!

I'm amenable to believing this, generally the great athletes of all-time get mythology attached to them. On the other hand, MJ's baseball sabbatical exposed his humanity and flaws from certain athletic elements so I'm not willing to jump fully in on this. Coach uses a ton of hyperbole when speaking about MJ, Worthy too, they're loyal to the legacy but I'm not completely convinced.

Hand times can be largely BS, but if it really was 3 different guys it adds a little more credence. Doubt he ran sub 4.4 but it’s not hard to believe one of the best athletes of all time ran a fast 40. I could easily believe 4.5’s, I bet Lebron in his 20s ran in the 4.5’s as well, which is insane for his size, but again freak athlete.

I don’t get why it’s hard to believe.

B-ball players are elite and by size, make NFL skill players look like smurfs.

Jordan had elite leaping ability and an elite first step.

Calvin ran a 4.35 at 6’5.

Justin Hunter ran a 4.44 at 6’4
Randy Moss ran a 4.25 40 at 6’4

Jared Cook ran a 4.49 at 6’5 and Missouri’s own Albert O ran a 4.49 at 6’5 258.

Are any of these more athletic than prime MJ?

Prime MJ probably runs a 4.44-4.45 laser at least.
