The baseball HOF is the most ridiculous process ever. When a guy retires his numbers will never get better or worse, yet guys have to wait some amount of years based on just how good or not good they were...

It's bizarre. I mean Joe DiMaggio wasn't a 1st ballot HOFer.

Not that Football is any better. Why did Ray Guy have to wait 30 years after he retired? His numbers weren't changing.

But not really the thread to talk about this.

Very sad. Prayers for his family and friends. I have thoughts, but don't think it appropriate now. Just......damn.

People who say shite like this are just the absolute worst.

Not only are you a dick for attempting to derail something, but so vague that you look like a passive aggressive bitch.

They've mentioned on the radio that 3 may day calls were made. Not sure if that's been verified or not.

I usually don't respond to things like this, but I'll make an exception. It is a sad deal. I will be praying for his family and friends. I do have thoughts about this because I know a little about flying. I don't think it's appropriate to voice my thoughts until a little more information comes out. I'm sorry if I kicked sand in your vagina, that wasn't my intent. Have a nice day.

Looks similar to the experimental plane John Denver bought and died in after just two flights.

That was due to a horrible location of the tank selector valve.

Wait, why did he do that? For fun?

And why is Toby Keith the manager?

I guess guys like that just love the game. Several former major leaguers, that casual fans would know, were there. It's a good time and it gives the fans one last time to see guys like that play. I'm glad we got to go and see them.

News said no maydays were made by him. From the pics you can land it on water and it floats. Guessing he was cruising too low to the water and flipped it some how since it was found upside down.

Yeah, apparently there was a conflicting report from USA Today, but it seems as though there were no mayday calls from Halladay.

What are the odds of survival in a crash where you get too low skimming the water in a small plane like this?

I would have figured they'd be pretty high, no?

I’ll always remember the pitching duel that he and Carpenter were locked into Game 5 of 2011 NLDS. Carpenter was just a little bit better that day. I believe both pitched complete games. I know both were very good friends. This is what I hate about sports. No one deserves to be taken that soon, but it sounds like he loved flying planes. RIP. Damn, this sucks.

Halladay was one of my favorite pitchers. I heard this on the radio earlier.

I'll always remember that time Lester Earl tried telling me that Mark Prior was better than Halladay.
