Almost certainly not the case.

There are a whole lot of retards out there, including the entire Houston roster in 2017.

It's like every other sports scandal in the history of sports, it'll go away entirely by next season.

It'll be a huge deal as this season starts. It'll die down for the most part, but there will be flare ups here and there. It'll certainly be a big talking point this coming postseason assuming the Astros are in the playoffs.

And by next season, it'll be behind us but for a tiny blip on the radar here and there that won't get much run.

I really don’t think this will be the case, but maybe I’m wrong.

I probably didn't word it correctly.

Things will happen that will bring it back up, like if there are brawls and what not when teams play the Astros. But just on normal, random days. Once we get into August, we're not going to be talking about this unless something related happens to spark it up again.

And by next season, this story is behind us.

I, personally, plan to bring signs and a garbage can (if allowed) to every Astros game in Arlington. I don’t think fans should forget this.

But again, ESPN and whoever will run segments showing what fans are doing when the Astros come to visit...at the beginning of the season. By September, they won't be talking about that even if fans are still doing it.

There is going to be around 5000 Dodger fans to boo the Astros at their opener in Anaheim. Maybe this will die down sooner than I think, but I have a hard time believing this will completely go away in only a couple of months

Sucks that the Dodgers don't play the Astros. Would be the 1st MLB game that is appointment viewing for me in probably over a decade.

I just don't know what the talking points will be 5 months from now? Like I said, it'll only come up if something pops up that brings it back. But that something isn't going to be happening every night or week.

This wouldn’t surprise me.

Hardcore fans will troll forever about it, but yeah, most casual fans and the media will move on likely the moment after Houston’s season ends.

IMO, it will not go way entirely for this season. Every time the Astros go to a new city for the first time they will be getting questions from new reporters. The home team will also be asked about how it feels to play those guys now.

I think a majority of the radical comments, that the players are 100% entitled to, will die down as spring goes on and everyone has reported. But I have a feeling something will be said or done that will grab the headlines about every week.

What about the Red Sox whenever they get punished for doing the same thing. Are they going to have to give up their title also?

My other hot take on this that I'm sure very few would agree with...

This is fricking great for baseball. Absolutely fantastic for MLB.

look up where the ASG is this year. You'll be happy

every single time an Astros hitter gets thrown at, every time a road media member asks them about it, opposing fanbases banging trash cans when they come to town, and the absolutely unmitigated disaster the all star weekend is going to be

I think this survives the year as a major story and will probably finally start to go away over the next offseason. But maybe I'm wrong

Right, but after the 1st couple of series, that won't be a national story with ESPN or whoever showing those clips. At that point, people will stop caring that the Astros are visiting a new city for the 1st time.

It would only flare up if something happen during those games that was sparked by the opposing team being upset and starting a brawl or something along those lines.

At first, likely. By August/September, I doubt it IMO.

This is the most coverage MLB has had on ESPN in a decade and occurs mid season NBA. Manfred is secretly loving this

As a baseball fan in general, I wholeheartedly agree. I typically only watch the Rangers daily, but I’ll keeping up with Houston more than usual this season.

The Houston transformation is similar to how Golden State went from up and coming young team to the most hated in the league almost overnight.

Having a bad guy (team) in a league is definitely a good thing for ratings.

As an Astros fan I certainly hope that is the case for sure.
