Hope you have underclassmen

Draft eligible players aren’t playing multiple extra games

We are gonna see a top seed have half a roster opt out and then the whole thing is gonna be a sham

Not really.

That chart is basically saying, lets play the regular season again.

Welcome to CBB, where nobody watches until March.

Valid point

I’m on team S, just go back to a final 2 and give the rest of the bowls meaning

I like 6 but am ok with 8. 12 is too much.

The round of 8 would probably be good. Those games need to be on campus and not the trash bowl sites.

I think 8 would be perfect. 5 seeds go to the Power 5, 1 seed goes to the best group of 5, and have 2 wild card teams.

Going to 12 I think is too much. I also think they should do away with the conference championship games by going to 12.

the expansion is such a poor idea.

for all we know the format could be expanded even further in 10 more years.

It's like nothing is ever good enough.

Back in the AP Poll dominated era there were a few instances in history where 4 teams had a shot at the MNC in the bowl season. That was the most, that's why 4 team playoff was designed.

That's how it's always been otherwise, what's the point of the regular season...ah, we can lose 3 games and still make the playoffs. Expanded playoffs were designed to include undefeated teams being left out. Not have everyone get a do-over.

They should definitely do this.

CFB is damned if they do and damned if they don’t

Can’t go back to just two… maybe we’ll look back at four being the perfect number

It gets all deserving teams in, preserves the bowl games, and is small enough that no one will opt out of it

Do we really need to waste time seeing Tulane in the playoffs?

People say this, then immediately forget about games like App State vs Michigan or Boise St vs Oklahoma and how exciting and fun those games are. Yea those are exceptions to the rule, but crazy as it may seem… upsets do actually happen in college football

They're really whoring out college football.

When they're making these decisions, does anyone think there's ever a slide in the presentations without dollar signs all over it?

Do we really need to waste time seeing that first round? Every team except Tulane and Clemson playing in the hypothetical first round has already lost to one of the final four teams.

Did you apply this logic in 2011 too?

Alabama was clearly the better team in both games, but I’d say it was unfair to LSU to have to play that game twice.

The quarterfinal attendance will be brutal. Those should be campus games as well.
