Ron Rivera "upset" about having to play on the road to start the season.

So basically Ron Rivera feels disrespected by the league for scheduling his team to play on the road against the defending champions, considering that his team was the NFC champions.

"Forget the fact that you're the defending NFC champs and you deserve to open up at home in front of your home crowd on opening week," Rivera said on Friday, eight days after a 21-20 loss to the Broncos. "We're going to make you guys relive it for five more months. That's how I felt.

"So for the next five months I've got to put up with it, deal with it, answer the questions and relive it constantly over and over and over. Honestly, it became a pain in the arse."

So Ron Rivera feels entitled to what he wants because he lost the superbowl. Does anyone else see how sad this is that he publically stated this soft complaint considering his team just can't beat the Broncos...?

I kinda see his point. Why not schedule this game a little deeper into the season when both teams have set the pace for their season?

Open the season at home, let them drop the NFC Champions banner. Having to replay the biggest game of most their lives again the very next game kinda sucks when if you win you get a whoopdie doo, little late.

Yeah I can kind of see where he's coming from too but I'll bet he wouldn't be whining if they would have won last week.

Half of the teams in the NFL have to start their season on the road and what you did last year doesn't mean shite. It should be seen as an opportunity for him to deliver some revenge and not the burden he makes it out to be.

This wouldn't be an issue if the NFC South wasn't paired against the AFC West this season.

I couldn't imagine calling a team the defending conference champs. Who the hell cares, you lost the SB. Why would you want to celebrate second place?

No shite Sherlock. You're right, if someone who played in the NFL 50+ years ago celebrated being a conference champ, it means something completely different.

I thought people would just understand that on premise, but dear god you were stupid enough not to get it.

How many years did the Saints open on the road recently? it's been a lot

You win the Super Bowl you earn the right to host - now maybe they could have found a different matchup for Denver but the league is all about having people watch on TV, it's why you have Thurs games to begin with.
