I don't know how close the Mets were to that threshold. So I can't tell if that's going to be a deterrent.

It absolutely does.


McNeil can now go full time to second base, we were constantly having to move people around just to keep his arse in the lineup. Plus, more money to spend in FA now

Another way to look at it is he has a frickton of money that he got because of being a cheater.

So this is just part of doing business. Not really a loss at all just not an ill gotten gain.
