Will there be any bars showing the fight?

As stated yes, but call ahead for cover charge. A lot of commercial establishments are charged by their capacity so they can pay thousands. Usually they charge it back in cover

Might be camera tricks, but I didn't realize how much taller FMM is.

This thread will be full of people who say they won't pay, but come fight time, they will

Did you expect it to be less than this?

It's a defense mechanism employed by Pacquiao fans because they know he's going to get humiliated.

I've never really watched a PPV boxing event before, so forgive me if my thinking is too simplistic: why wouldn't someone just call around to some bars and see if they're showing the fight? Is there something I'm missing?

A lot of people will do that. For this one, bars will have cover charges, at least where I live.

TBH, I'm amazed that PPV is the most profitable option.

I wonder what they will charge the bars to show it.

I look at it like this, Floyd is one of the GOATs as well as Manny, but at their respective stages of their careers Manny can't beat him albeit a fluke. $99.95 is too much to drop on potential of a win.

Floyd has fought someone since maybe De La Hoya that could beat him. I don't know if it's Floyd picking people he knows he can beat, if there is truly no one out there that can beat him, or if he is just too good and cannot be beat. I think it's a combo of all three.

Supposed to be 21$ per person and per your facilities capacity so if a bar can hold 200 people they will be charged 4200 to show the fight.

This whole event is a complete joke.

1. 99.9% of the fans who have followed their careers for decades can't afford to go to the event because they jacked up the prices to an absurd amount. Plus, I think only 1k are going on sale. The rest are going to casino high rollers and celebrities.

2. The PPV being $100 is a slap in the face and at this point, I don't think it's nearly worth that price. They are clearly taking advantage of the fans and just trying to laugh their way to the bank. Why pay that kind of money for a fight they didn't even wanna give us when we really wanted it?

3. They didn't even do a press tour and instead, they did a red carpet ceremony and you had to be invited by Mayweather and Haymon.

And these arse clowns claim they made this fight "for the fans".

frick Mayweather, Pacquiao, Haymon, Arum and the whole damn bunch. Not giving them a nickel of my money.

That's what I'm counting on.

That fight is going to generate some money.Might set some kind of record.

quote:

The money that will be generated by the welterweight title unification fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao -- already expected to be a slam dunk to break every revenue record in combat sports history -- is growing by the day and could easily surpass $400 million. The live gate for the joint Showtime/HBO pay-per-view fight on May 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas will generate a staggering 74 million from the sale of a little over 15,000 seats, Top Rank chairman Bob Arum, Pacquiao's promoter, told ESPN.com on Monday.

I was a huge boxing fan during the '80-'00's and still will take in a compelling fight here nd there, but I have no interest in this lame spectacle that is years too late. It's basically worthless to boxing's history. It could have had so much more meaning when both were at their prime.
