Houston doesn't really have the top notch prospects that would be needed to get cueto or chapman. I could see LAD or maybe Pittsburgh or the Jays

Yankees get Cueto by eating Brandon Phillips salary as well. Yankees avoid giving up a top 10 prospect but still send 3-4 to the Reds.

The only guy I see Houston dealing for Cueto is Appel

But I wouldn't make that trade.

Reds aren't getting a big time prospect for a rental.

I'm a big Reds fan, so I've been keeping up with this a lot. I believe the Reds can get a Top 50 MLB prospect plus another prospect for Cueto. I believe the Reds will trade with any teams, except divisional teams. If they trade with the divisional teams, it would have to be a deal they can't turn down type of thing.

The front office may want him. Artie is a different story.

Jockety said he wants to keep the Reds competitive so I'm not sure we will just be looking for prospects.

I think we will take prospects, but they will be almost ready prospects(ready for next year). We need a big bat bad.

How can they label it a "fire" sale if he wants to remain competitive? I mean a fire sale means everyone is available and you are wanting to rebuild.

Idk. I just heard an interview with him saying how he owes it to the fans not to go into a full blown rebuild,

They need to have a fire sale starting with him.

yeah, teams never do that in sports

The brewer sold their souls for 2ish months of CC Sabathia. And he bolted right after season.

If you have a short window to win, u try with everything u have.

How many years ago was that? Teams have become increasingly more prospect oriented now.

are they going to get an addison russell? no

could they get a top 25-50 guy? sure

maybe not Corey Seager but i could see LAD dealing one of their big pitching prospects. Pirates have a deep farm too.
