Wait until they start adding new 'talent' to assist Hansen. They're probably already working on a way to push him out and use their own people. Curious when they'll go up on prices, too. You know that's on the way.
All very predictable once we heard ESPN was buying it.

If vote for any candidate that promised to ban advertising across all mediums. We are spammed with ads every second of every day.

Brother there will always be a way. As long as their are corporations in the world that try to monopolize content people want to consume, the pirate will find a way.
The last act of mankind will be someone downloading a cam of some shitty movie.

The reality is Pat is right. No one is going to cancel their sub over commercials. They will piss and moan on the internet, tell people they are DONE(!!!), then pay their subscription and watch.

I’m only one person, but I cancelled mine. I’ll just get updates as the games go on

That’s got some truth but it’s not the point. It’s that ESPN has had the product for a month and is already fricking with it. People already pay extra to watch redzone, do you really need to sell that much more commercial space?
In that same vein, having to pay for an app and then having to pay extra to go “commercial free” is one of the things that drives me fricking crazy.

I was getting irritated with Hanson for the last couple of years and was watching it on mute lately. Think I will cancel too...im not watching any damn ads. I'll just watch the extended highlights on YouTube after games are over with an adblock

I quit Redzone and watching NFL after George Floyd and the summer of love. I was turned off by the kneeling and all the racist crap in the end zone and back of helmets.
I have slowly returned but with nowhere near the enthusiasm I once had.
I was thinking of signing back up for Redzone this year but now with commercials, no way.
Dear Facebook.

We all knew it was happening as soon as ESPN aquired it.

Enshitification.
It's a very interesting concept and one that has gained a lot of attention over the past decade. It started to describe how tech companies get shittier over time but it actually applies to everything.

The NFL feels like they are untouchable. They have aggressively fricked over their own fans at every single turn for the past decade and every single time they have been rewarded with increased ratings and revenue.
They are basically betting that most people won't cancel over the commercials. Just more money for them. Shittier product for you, but more money for them, and that's all they care about.

Guy in vid says, we will not miss a touchdown. Ok. You go to commercial then team hits a 50 yard pass play to the 1 and lining up to score. They gonna just cut off in the middle of the dumb Pizza Hut ad? No, they won’t. You’ll get a replay.
I’m done with it. There will be so many commercials on it soon it will be no better than a highlight show.
If we didn’t have such a braindead sheep populace that will blindly follow what the ads tell them we’d be better off.
Oh wow, look, the pizza’s got the snickers bars in the crust now. Call em now Ethel. OMG! Imma get them new cantina fish n chips Doritos today!

I stopped watching for the most part years ago, talking back before the Saints won their SB (I only watched part of that game even) but for over a decade prior I could name every starter in the league and a bunch of backup lineman too.
Now I watch LSU and a good matchup or two and on Sunday I might watch half a game if it is a good game.
Just got tired of the commercialization of every aspect of it and gave it up. Now with streaming I refuse to watch intentionally those games even if I have the service already. (For 1 thing they play in mostly public financed stadiums and now want to privatize the former publicly available broadcasting).
Never had RZ as I saw this coming from the inception of the concept. The whole basis for advertising of sports is to provide revenue for the broadcasting. Subscriptions are antithetical coupled with other revenue sources like advertising and now consumers are expected to just keep swallowing the BS. Screw that!
