He really isn't though. There are certain forms of speech that deserve more protection...this isn't one of them.

Obviously, that one situation is not the best example. But he is still right. The attitude doesn't change with the circumstance.

Cop out? It is 100% factual.

I'm sure the founding fathers would have just ignored anyone who ran around town calling 13 year old girls sluts. Free speech ya know.

On another note, I find it amusing that people label this kind of shite as the pussification of America.

Right, adults getting pissed at a grown man calling a 13 year old a slut is "pussification."

Real men have always protected our young.

I think it is a fair move. How does one muster up the nerve to call a 13 yr old a slut is beyond me.

Reading some of these responses makes me think there may be a larger cultural issue at hand here...

I'm not offended by what he said. I'm offended by the way you butcher the English language though.

Bigger picture means incidents outside of juat this one.
likr when that homophobic jackass duckhunter got fired for a few days how many people cried that it was wrong? Why hecause you agree with him? Thats what happens when we pick and choose to let people get fired based on if we agree or not.

Hes a college kid as well...but we dont teach anymore we just chop people off and send them to rot.we act like we care but we judt want to judge cause our lives are so boring we have to judge others for power.

Even she didnt like him beng kicked off but who cares what the people involved think...its shat we think and he should be a castaway

nah, I don't see it. I think some people just believe you should be able to say what you want with impunity. Employers, or any organization you represent have a responsibility to protect their own interests.

The school made the decision. Where's this mob you keep alluding to that was calling for his head? Just because nobody's crying that he got kicked off the team you're equating that with sending him to the gallows.

Mikey you work in athletics I thought. So you know why the school did what it did.

My issue is he knew how to tweet, as every school/team no matter level has that class first meeting.

My other issue is Disney using it to promote a girl for a movie and possibly costing her a chance at a future.

If people recall, Disney already has caused UConn basketball (men's and women's) letters of inquiry.
