Why is it so hard to understand that what’s going on and what’s popular in your area, might not be the same situation in a place that’s about half a country away from you??
Maybe we do things different down here. Maybe rec and travel ball is split up different in the south. shite, I can tell you that rec departments are night and day different just one parish (county for you) apart down here. Some are great. Some are nonexistent
Shouldn’t be that hard to comprehend that youth baseball in Ohio is way different than youth baseball in Louisiana
Also, a 46ft mound at 12 years old is absolutely fricking retarded

That’s weird the “down here” teams have some fantastic LLWS teams too. If you own a tv, check em out.

All that, and neither one of your bots will do anything after high school.
Cold hard facts. Slack off and let them live

They'll see the best pitchers at the shortest distance mounds. Crazy reaction time is needed and will put travel ball in "easy mode".
This is why we put our 13s and 14s on a 36' mound. Sure we might break a catchers thumb or two but we prepping for the Show over here buddy.

These kids play 1 day a week, and they treat their 1 day a week like they’re in scrimmages. The other 3 days, it’s nothing but rec ball kids. So what you’re talking about only happens 25% of the time in rec ball. So is rec ball still better than travel ball?

umm really only east bank and AP. the two other traditional powers, Lafayette and Lake Charles have mainly went 100% travel ball. other than lafayettes run a couple years ago because 1 travel team decided to play and all but i think 1 of the players on the all star teams was from that travel team. werent even a great travel team either
AP kids still mainly focus on travel, with really only the east bank kids taking LL very serious. also you need to understand that the travel kids, even in those leagues, only play the minimum amount of games needed.

Not where we live
Half the Rec kids were there because momma wanted to get them out of the house, they didn't give two shits and were uncoachable.

East Bank LL won the entire LL World Series in their 2nd year of existence. It was 100% because they filled it with travel ball kids. They were literally the best 12yr old kids in the world by your statement. Meanwhile they were an average team in travel ball tournaments.

Boy, I’m not a rec dad. Just explaining rec ball was more difficult to be a hitter than any of these travel games we do.

If that was true I’d agree. Since I coach both LL and Travel, I disagree as I have first hand knowledge. The travel teams schedule around LL and LL has first dibs on pitch counts. The boys enjoy it and only 1 kid on the entire little league team played the minimum which was 75% of the games.

How can say that when the same pitchers throw in travel? You are one dumb mf.

Hate to break it to you, but the LLWS teams are travel ball teams.
Last weekend the Oklahoma softball team that reached the US finals of the LLWS was at our travel ball tournament. They are playing rec to have a chance to play in the LLWS, but majority of their games are travel ball.

Back in the 90's our Rec league was super competitive b/c it was the only thing around in Shreveport.
The Rough Cut league in BR was crazy competitive. The teams that were loaded with kids who ended up playing college ball. Watching some of those kids pitch on the short field, and bomb home runs into the trees was an awesome college job.

yea its opposite in most places
and ignore the guys who say your kid will be nothing after HS, half this board thinks college baseball is a myth and apparently nobody plays it despite most of the good hs teams sending most of the seniors to play

bc in travel, reps are spread out so more kids are forced to pitch and get teams through pool games etc (which is good when kids need reps and development).
His little rec league is dominated by these LL losers where ironically at rec, none of the shite kids are having opportunities to develop where that's what rec was supposed to be for. kids are learning a lot striking out at 46 ft twice a game.

It’s incredible how much adults have destroyed kids sports

This is pretty spot on, the pitchers often pitch complete games before maxing pitch counts, low amount of games per week keeps their availability high. You have to face the best pitcher you know at 46 feet multiple times. You see the same kid in travel tournament, he goes 2-3 innings max and survive him. Also, they are not always good at slide step and pick offs so much less effective from the stretch than a full windup every pitch regardless of runners on base who can’t steal until it touches the catchers mitt in LL.
