I think attendance will improve, but probably not enough to keep you from complaining

It will absolutely improve. St Pete is a shite hole and no one likes crossing the Howard Frankland to get to it.

They're going to break ground any day at a lot near Ray Jay

We aren’t there yet
But if they do break ground, it won’t fall through

Sorry, I'll elaborate. Downtown St Pete is a shite hole. The beach is nice enough. I'd prefer other beaches on the gulf though.

Yes. Stayed at the Vinoy. Felt like I was going to get shot if I left the hotel.

I’m not sure why you would feel that way
It’s a really nice area with lots to do, and shootings are definitely rare

Man these are some terrible St. Pete takes. If you were scared to leave the vinoy you probably shouldn't go farther than your front yard

it’s been well established that ForeverGroomer is a pussy

And he’s likely a troll who doesn’t like the gators or any team he claims to like

Agree- St Pete dowtown is pretty amazing to me.
We are in St Pete like every other weekend due to Beach VB.
I prefer it to Ybor all day everyday.

Not a fan of the Tampa teams but the Rays are really good

I’ve only spent a few days in St Pete but I was a huge fan. Could definitely live there. I also understood why the attendance is so rough, not an easy place to get it to by big city standards. I imagine attendance will improve a great deal once they move, especially if the team is still really good

Article in The Athletic about the bond between Brewer fans (and the state of Wisconsin) with Bob Uecker. Great tidbits in here about mentorship of other announcers.

Appreciate you sharing that article. Will read. It was a sad day for the game of baseball when he passed. He transcended the game and it's one of the very unique things about the Brew Crew. It will be pretty epic if yall win this thing. Cheers

Same here. We went to a Rays game about 10 years ago, stayed at the Avalon in St Petersburg. We liked the area, had no complaints whatsoever (other than 3.2 beer at the convenience store). Tropicana Field would be a great arena for some events, but it's terrible for baseball. It's dark and cold inside, all the more difficult to enjoy when it is sunny and warm outside, which is most of the time. The tank of rays in center field is a cool attraction, I do commend them on that. The stadiums with retractable roofs and large windows to let in sunlight -- those feel more like going to a park, and enjoying the baseball game taking place at the center of it. It's not the fact that Trop has a roof. It just has the aesthetic of a concert venue, not a baseball park. I hope they get a new stadium. I would definitely make a trip to St Pete to see a game there - on our way to Key West.
