Can someone explain to me? Commentators seem to think he didn’t go, replay it showed 100% was swing, I don’t watch much mlb, just college so didn’t know if rules were different

If tweet fails to load, click here. Here’s the video. Look at the overlays of check swings that went to appeal
looks like there will be an ABS type system coming for this though, also shown here

Yandy watch 2 meatballs and chased a bad pitch. Poor AB. The entire team had poor AB's, other than the 1st inning

it's a judgement call
the ump on the opposite side of the hitter is checking to see if his wrists rotate/break is what I was always told.
if its indeed a judgement call, I would see it as a combination of that, if the bat/hands comes aligned with the foul line that the umpire is down, and if it reaches a point in the batters swing where he normally would have already fired his hips and committed to the swing. whatever that means .
If a batter has elite bat speed, he can wait longer and not be susceptible to check swings

He went
This is frustrating, because the Brewers are fricking good, but these are winnable games
Sloppy play and bonehead decisions
See y’all at the Trop on Monday
Rays up

I said Brewers in 6 but they might wrap this thing up in 4.

the Rays don't deserve to win a World Series if we're being completely honest.
that ownership has consistently put a quality product on the field for years and the fans still don't show up..... and NO it doesn't matter where the hell the stadium is located. it's NOT an excuse for averaging 325 fans on an average Tuesday in Tampa.
you can only say "but...but....but...." so many times over the last three decades before people stop believing the bullshite.
move the team to Nashville or Charlotte next year and get it over with.

The view from up top is why people think he went. His bat was going UP, not OUT. It's deceptive. The one from the side was definitive, he DID NOT go.

That led to the new stadium in Tampa deal falling through

Every owner has veto authority and there’s no chance the Braves allow a team in Charlotte.
Agree that the Rays need to move though.

I’ll
Believe it when there’s a fully

If the rays have the best team, then they deserve a World Series
I’m not sure how fanbase size is a requirement for a team to “deserve” a World Series
It’s looking like they’ll get a stadium in Tampa
I think attendance will improve, but probably not enough to keep you from complaining
