Was 30k until 2014.
Now have to avg 15k attendance at least every two years.

You need 35k capacity to be d1a
not in baseball
the newly crowned national champs... Oregon State... can barely fit in 7,000
ETA: nevermind... I over-inflated that
Goss Stadium can barely hold 4,000

top 10 in the NHL attendance for the Lightning at 19K (100.2% full).
Amalie Arena is fricking awesome. Maybe they will invest in this.

Professional sports in the state of Florida is just a bad idea. Too many franchises for a population that is mostly transplants. They should let the Rays move to a city like San Juan. The San Juan Rays sounds amazing. The people of San Juan absolutely live, eat and breathe baseball. No doubt the support for a team in San Juan would succeed compared to Tampa and Miami attendance figures.

I think you have to estimate a decent gain from those 2 factors alone.
And majority of your folks attending are going to be over in Tampa (or tourists) and not over in St. Pete. St. Pete has always been an out of the way location for the stadium.

I trying to imply that they'll always be the D-Rays to me.
I failed.

I love the Rays, but they desperately needed a new stadium. The new one they have planned looks perfect

I think the future of sports stadiums is going to be small, intimate venues that have crazy amenities and high ticket prices. TV experience is killing the nosebleed ticket market.

Not a bad idea. They have to get people in the stands and great offensive displays are a good start.
Are you seeing dimensions that I can't see? "Smallest" is in reference to capacity, not actual size of the field.
