Oh, I didn't put them in order. If so, I would've said currently:

1. Brady
2. Rodgers
3. Manning
4. Brees
5. Big Ben

I think if you look at a whole career though, Manning may be the best QB I've ever seen play the game.

Meh. Rodgers might be the best pure player at the QB position I've seen, but its a team game.

Thing with Peyton is his outings in the playoffs. Its like in college when he never beat UF. He didn't just lose to UF, he absolutely stunk it up.

Same thing in the playoffs.

- lost in 2005 div round as #1 seed to 6th seeded Steelers in Big Ben's 2nd season
- lost in 2007 to Chargers with Billy Volek as QB in div round
- lost to Jets in 2010 in WC round at home
- lost to Ravens this year.

Could go on and on. I mean if it happened once or twice, it could be a blip. Could be the team. But hes consistently had maddening performances in the playoffs.

I don't get it.

FWIW his QB rating was actually higher than Brady's in the playoffs prior to last weekend. And at least one of those losses you site the only difference between winning and losing is a missed kick. Brady drives his team in range for a last second field goal and Vinatieri hits it = Brady is super clutch and a winner!!!! Manning drives his team in range for a last second field goal and Vanderjagt shanks it = Manning sucks in the playoffs and is a terrible loser!!!!

I'd actually put Manning at the bottom of any top 5 list right now though. He's still good enough for top 5, but he's clearly not fully healthy. Guy was throwing some wounded ducks last weekend. Mike Lombardi broke down the tape and said that it's the only game in Manning's career in which he didn't throw a single out or seam route

Big Ben and Eli top 5

There is no Top 5. There is a top 4, then the next tier.

I dig it.

Also what about CK for the niners?

Imagine if he wins a Super Bowl. From 2nd string to elite in less than half a season.

Top based on how impressed I am when I watch them:

1) Rodgers
2) Manning
3) Brees
4) Brady
5) Romo soon to be replaced by Wilson/RG3/Luck

Based on what they've accomplished/numbers:

1) Brady
2) Manning
3) Brees
4) Rodgers
5) Eli I guess

Lots of possibilities, which leads me to think that...

...is the correct answer (for now).

Ryan is finally playing in an offense that utilizes his skills and his surrounding talent properly, and he's responded by putting up some excellent numbers. After what he's done this season, I would not be opposed to putting him in the current top five.

Agreed. He finally has his team in the final four. How can you leave him out?
