Congratulations to Kansas for beating TCU this weekend and winning a couple of other games, they are getting left off this list. Here are my picks for the worst Power 5 programs of 2018, complete with analysis.

1. Rutgers (1-7) - In 1869 Rutgers defeated Princeton 6-4 in what is considered to be the first college football game. They have been one of the worst programs in America ever since. In their 7 straight defeats they are losing by an average score of 37 - 12

2. North Carolina (1-6) - Gone are the days of running trains on tutors and competing in the ACC. Larry Fedora has run this program into the ground. The defense has been horrible for the heels giving up 34 ppg. They are very fortunate that their game against UCF was cancelled.

3. Arkansas (2-7) - I honestly never expected Arkansas to be this bad, they are usually a decent team. Bert set the program back at least 5 years with shitty recruiting. They lost to Colorado State and got blown out at home by North Texas in consecutive weeks... that's just bad

4. Louisville (2-6) - Lamar Jackson aint walking through that door. The run defense has been especially porous for the cards, ranking 122nd in FBS and allowing 233 ypg. Former UL commit Matt Colburn shite on this defense for 243 yards and 3 TDs yesterday.

5. Nebraska (2-6) - By popular demand, the Huskers replace Oregon State for the #5 spot. OSU gutted out an incredible comeback victory at Colorado.. Nebraska lost to Colorado. This team has been getting arse raped in the Big 10 despite hiring nationally coveted HC Scott Frost. This once proud program is now a doormat

Honorable mention: Oregon State (2-6), UCLA (2-6), Illinois (3-5)

They're looking for a way to fire Petrino for cause.

Normally it wouldn't be that hard, but Pitino was such a scumbag that the bar is a lot higher.

They should have done it immediately after the game. Wake ran them out of the stadium.. Even Tulane competed with them FFS

I agree with the list mostly. Illinois is an honorable mention. 3-5 doesnt leap off the table as one of the worst teams, but when your 3 wins are Rutgers (the worst P5 team) and Kent St and a bad FCS school, and you get boat raced in all your losses, that's a pretty good resume to be included here. Gave up 40+ 4 times, including twice of 60+. Yikes

Illinois was definitely considered, they are straight up garbage. I was close to putting them on there. Even with 3 wins they are certainly bad enough to get an honorable mention

Edited to also include Nebraska and UCLA

Didn’t LSU have interest in Fedora at one time for head coach?

I don't think he was very high on their list of candidates. Most of the posters on the Coaching change board had downs syndrome and no legit sauces

I wouldn't put Arkansas in the bottom 5 over Illinois. Illinois' only win against a Power 5 team was against Rutgers and their four losses to Power 5 competition was by an average margin of 34.3 PPG. At least Arkansas has been competitive in some of their games only losing by 7 points to Texas A&M and four points to Ole Miss. I agree with the other four teams though.

TV market. There's about 50 million people living within 100 miles of that campus.

Of course 49 million of them don't care about college football at all, but the Big 10 got googly eyes over the prospect of all that juicy revenue.

Illinois finally had a few starters that are at least B10 quality but most of their depth is just shite.

NJ/NY TV markets, which raised the carriage charges for the Big 10 Network in those states.

I want to say the carriage charge in states with a Big 10 school are 10x those of a state without one. 10x the money from huge populations in NJ and NY help offset how worthless the program itself has been.

The Big 10 wanted the New York media market so naturally they added a dogshit program that nobody in New York cares about. Also to expand their recruiting footprint so superior programs can raid Jersey for talent

Just 2 years ago around this time we were #3 in the country coming off a 62-20 win over then #2 Florida State. Damn what a fall

I believe you should switch OR State and Nebraska. The win over CU is a quality win. Nebraska doesn’t have anything close.

One of the worst SEC teams I can remember.

0-8 in league. 2-10 overall with losses to Colorado State and North Texas. Blown out by Vandy at home, who might not win another game in the league.

It's real bad.

Oregon State and Illinois are both way worse than Nebraska. Nebraska hasn't been winning their games, which I know is what this is about, but they aren't a bad team. They have been competitive almost every week and they could easily have 5 or 6 wins.
