20 million is crazy for you are I not a team willing to let a superstar walk.
For some superstars, maybe. Not for Hamilton. That is the point.
You are the only one in this thread that thing the Rangers will keep him for that kind of money and you are not a fan. Think about that for a second.

That I am not one of the fan who I upset with him and all. We shall see in the offseason. Yankees fans were against giving Jeter 51 million over 3 seasons, yet front office felt he was worth it. It has paid off nicely in hindsight as at time Jeter was coming off a horrible season by his standards.

Dude has no clue. Why even argue with him. He just comes in here and trolls.

The Texas Rangers stepped up their efforts for Cliff Lee, presenting a variety of increased offers to the free-agent pitcher in a face-to-face meeting Thursday in Little Rock, Ark.
"We reaffirmed our commitment to fielding a championship-caliber team and conveyed a menu of multiple offers, which represented a substantial additional commitment for both years and dollars in an attempt to land his services," Rangers general managing partner and CEO Chuck Greenberg said Thursday night.
Yup sounds like they "let" Lee walk... Lee just made a decision to join a team that offered less money because he enjoyed his previous experience

dude, word since at least mid season in the Dallas media is the Rangers are completely fed up Hamliton. They are NOT going to give him a huge deal. They will make him an offer they know will get beat by another team to placate the fans who dont pay enough attention to know he has been sandbagging and happily let him walk. Its exactly what they did with Lee when they didnt want to give him the years and money he wanted.

It would take a team offering crazy money for Rangers to let him go IMO
You mean like the unreal deal the Angels offered Pujols?
The fans -- and it appears the team -- are getting tired of Josh and his drama queen antics. Gentry can make up for his defense easily (if not actually improve). Replacing the 43 HR's won't happen but either you pay through the nose for the drama or you move on. I choose the latter since 2013 will be the return to mediocrity (though hopefully short lived).
I can live with throwing away 2013 (and trading Nathan and Elvis to restock the farm, also MY even if we have to pick up most of his deal) so long as come 2014 our minor leaguers (Olt, Profar, Perez, Grimm) are really MLB ready. They clearly aren't ready for MLB next year (and in Scheppers case he'll NEVER be ready) and my fear is that we'll call them up too soon -- anyone remember Benji Gil? Do you want a team full of them?

I'm all on board the Let Josh go on his merry way tour after we're done fricking this season up.
At this point I would laugh my arse off if Chris Davis hits a walk off grand slam in the one game playoff with Baltimore.

I mentioned the Angels and Pujols, you must have stopped reading....

uhh no. I;ve been a Rangers fan my whole life.
You dont know what the hell you are talking about.
They were not willing to give Lee the money and years he wanted, gave an offer they felt was fair and worked in their budget, and let him go when he wanted more.
Its as simple as that.
I'm done talking to you b/c you clearly have your head up your arse.

Front office was smart enough to realize that Jeter is the real face of the team. Even the biggest Yankee haters respect him. The Rangers did the same thing with MY years ago and with Ian this year.

If Josh signs else where do they then blow up the team and try to move Beltre, Elvis, among others?
No superstar FA this year I believe unless they can facilitate a trade for Upton.

No I read the rest. We're in agreement that Hamilton will probably sign with another team. The only thing is that I don't think the Rangers are going to make as big an attempt to keep Josh as the Cards did to keep Pujols. And I wouldn't try either.
