They didn't just import basketball players and illegally house them. I don't think the LHSAA will lose and neither do the people involved.

Care to elaborate on what else they did?

Don’t see that happening. If Randy were willing to settle, he would have taken the suspension and not filed suit in the first place. Also don’t think settling is in Newman’s best interest. Unless they are exonerated, firing Randy is the only way they save face.

Randy probably has so much dirt on Newman… and likewise Newman on Randy…

And will the richest school get hammered? Maybe. If LHSAA realizes they should, that they need to set an example that we have rules and that money doesn’t let you out of those rules.

You’re forgetting just how much money they have… we know they buy and sell everyone else so why wouldn’t they buy basketball players?

I’m guessing it’s about the AJ Johnson thing which while a fiasco, is old news.

Don’t think he’ll settle. He’s too pompous. And settling means Newman has to admit to their community that they did something wrong. They claim they’ve done nothing

Rich people never think they did anything wrong

I’m sure they’ve tried to. But when the people turning you in are a coach you fired and a player you ran off, hard to fix that

Old news, but so is some of the basketball stuff. No reason they can’t look into AJ, Makai, Bordelons, and pull some football winnings if they want.

They could but they didn’t win state so no one really cares

No one of except all the people who are tired of private schools buying players. Makes the LHSAA look petty if they wait until someone has won a state championship to punish them for all of their recruiting efforts. No reason not to stop it as soon as it happens.

The Bordelons were 100 % legal. Once u establish and meet in zone residency requirements you can move out of zone and attend same school.

And Easton, carver , lccp, mcmain, McKinley, bro Martin weren’t winning championships when they got sanctioned.

You either don’t understand the rules or don’t know what they did. They live in Thibodaux and bought an additional house in NO to go to Newman. Was not a bona fide move per LHSAA definition. Not even close. Don’t know that they were recruited by Newman but they should have sat out a year to be legal. Neither school fought it bc both schools have a building named after the family. Nothing legal about what they did.

I know the rules inside and out. I know for a fact they were 100 % legal.

They lived in the penthouse condo long enough to be eligible in that district. Once eligible where they lived after that is not relevant.

Same was a kid playing for destrehan lives east or power Blvd in Metairie

I have sat in several eligibility hearings , including mine - have you?

Did they establish initial eligibility at E.D. White?

There’s a difference in actually living somewhere and owning a second home to falsely establish residency. That’s the point of the rules.

Let kids go where they want. It’s up to the families decide where their kids play.

Should be soon but it’s hard to see the LHSAA winning this case in Orleans Parish

Considering how halfassed the LHSAA normally is, I’m not sure if this means it is a slam dunk or if they are misreading the situation.
