For the record, it's not a true split, just different playoff brackets for selects ... should have happened 30 years ago. All the titty baby whining by the selects is annoying as hell. Get over it.

You think the people that read and post in the first 8 pages of this thread don't know that?

Really? Enlighten us on why.

Well, in general, it is almost impossible to underestimate the collective knowledge level of a group of TD posters so there are probably some that didn't know. And other that didn't care.

Selects weren't the ones whining. The split was driven by Whiner #1, the lady principal from Winnfield, a public school. Obviously someone hasn't been paying as much attention as he'd like us to think.

i think it will be overturned if the LHSAA constitution says there should only be 5 classes...
it's rich to vote themselves as not having to play a select school if they don't want to, but (for example) Shreveport schools are still stuck playing Byrd in district even if they think it's unfair
Winnfield might should be in district 3 with mostly Alexandria schools and Holy Savior Menard
instead of going all the way to Oak Grove and Lake Providence...

I hope you're right.
I know an executive committee was meeting about it. There still wasn't even a plan on how to make the split, just a vote to split.

as well it should be.. this proposal will kill the LHSAA in it's current form...it doesn't solve the problem...

So you're saying that the split won't happen this year, correct?
I know I have argued on both sides of this arguement. Mainly that the privates/selects do have advantages that need to be addressed. However, I do not want the split.

correct....
and I think the whole thing will be tabled and redone...
with..
1. counting enrollment different at select/non select schools.
2. allowing schools to play up - in single sports.

I'm not saying that principals won't vote for this, but I am against it.
I don't care how "good-hearted" John Curtis, Jr. thinks he is by protecting his other sports from not being able to compete in higher classifications. I'm quite certain that John Curtis Christian School can field competitive teams for all sports. And by competitive, I do not mean that they can win state championships at all sports, I simply mean that they could win some/lose some. If they can't, then maybe they should spread the resources (time and coaches) to other sports to allow them to be competitive.

This should have been the first thing they did. Use a multiplier for the select schools. But being as it makes the most sense, it's one of the last things being considered.

some very well respected SELECT principals have been touting this for years.. the funny thing is selects still would have won 2a through 5a last year..

I agree.. but 1-4a wants curtis out for football..
5A.. political powers don't want them at ALL... but 5A is best equipped to handle them.....

So no one wants Curtis, where does Curtis want to play?

Right where they are
no in football they want 4 or 5 a..

the record speaks otherwise.
