Complete clean hit. Hit with all shoulder into the mid chest area.

Ya that was a terrible call. MAYBE interference but a major penalty and game misconduct for that is a joke

The Caps Kings game was insane tonight. The Caps looked completely lifeless in the 1st going down 3-0. But wow did they look dominant in the 3rd. I haven't seen the Kings that frazzled in a long time. Would be a fantastic SCF series.

The officiating tonight was a joke, it was the Blues vs refs and hawks. They tried to gift them all night.

it's as bad as it can get in nhl with officiating, they guess at calls, with out asking for help.

worst officials of any sport right now.

I'll be honest. I went to bed after the first period and chalked it up as a loss. No biggee, the Caps have been racking up points, they could give away 2 on the west coast swing. Woke up this morning to a miracle point. And boy, was that Orlov goal sweet as hell.

Hate that the Caps keep gifting teams a lead, but that was a nice comeback on the road. Again.

Yes it was. And FINALLY Russia has produced a good defenseman.

seriously, i watched a few games on center ice this weekend and the officiating is so horrendous, it's almost comical.

I watched a guy high stick himself(stick rode up boards and clipped his helmet), and they gave the guy on other side of him a High Sticking penalty. I believe it was San Jose game.

These guys just guess and make calls, with out even seeing what exactly happened.

Here's my question, since it seems like this is a common theme across all sports leagues. Is officiating actually getting worse? Or are the rules getting more complex? Faster pace of play? Or is it just that we now have access to high quality TV with tons of replay angles so we know when a call is wrong? This genuinely interests me because everyone talks about how bad officiating is now days and I agree, I just don't really know why it is

NHL officiating has always been bad, especially on judgement calls, but i guess because of lack of interest, the younger officials are getting worse and worse.

NHL fired like 3 officials a few years ago, they hired all 3 back. If ur fired by NHL for officiating being poor, ur really, really, really bad. And then to hire them back????

It doesn't help that no refs seem to understand obstruction or for some reason will not call it. If you can't/won't enforce the basics, makes it difficult to call anything else consistently. They've basically set us back to Dead Puck era 2.0
