I didn't have the opportunity to be at that game, but I do remember watching it at Ground Pati on Sherwood Forest Blvd

Iconic: In a bad way. I was there. Still hurts.

In a good way. Goose Givens - greatest performance in a title game.

I didn't read the OP, just looked at the title and pictures.

The Ricky Williams image may be more sentimental to me. Everyone in Austin was so excited for the opportunity to see Ricky break Tony Dorsett's record. And of course, he gets his shot at it against rival #6 Texas A&M. A&M had only lost one game prior to that (first game of the season to #2 FSU 23-14). A&M had a very, very good defense led by Vince Lombardi and Chuck Bednarik winner Dat Nguyen.

That play, to me, sums up the entire Texas-Texas A&M rivalry. Domination. Ricky needed 11 yards to break Dorsett's record...he got 60 yards, the touchdown, and the win. Texas still leads the series 76-37-5. Hook 'em.

An Ole Miss football game in Oxford, 1969. Dozens of Confederate flags, one sign saying "Archie":
