Still awesome to see players play on the same team their whole career. Not jumping ship when times are hard is something that should be respected.
Not really. If you stayed at the same position and company forever even when better opportunities for you and your family came up, you'd rightfully be called an unambitious dumbass.

Meh, times were never hard for players who stayed on their original teams. You'd be hard pressed to find a situation where someone stayed on a team for less money and/or with a better team suiting them. Just doesn't happen and it isn't as romantic as people think it is. Guys that stay are usually offered more money and/or a better team, period.

Or there is a regime change and they bring in a new, younger replacement. The veteran wants to continue in a starting role, which is only possible elsewhere.

Wasn't he drafted by the Browns? Technically not the same team.
Same franchise, just a move and name change

Almost 4 full pages and no mention of Chipper Jones yet?
The Braves retired his number Friday.
