Drew Brees went from being an ok QB in San Diego to Hall of Fame worthy in New Orleans but not sure that one will count as it is more of a system thing.

If that's the case - then go ahead and say Tom Brady as well - Because Brees had better numbers in SD than Brady in NE at that time.

Fitzgerald might fall into this category. Journeyman who actually lit it up year before last in NY.

Not that he was ever great, but he was solid for a few years.

I'll probably discount football players and women as they almost always peak in their early or mid 20's. It's part of what makes Serena Williams so great - you just don't see many female athletes do anything past about age 28 or so. Tony Boselli stands out in football, though - a guy many thought would be one of the greatest tackles ever basically never played after age 26. Lorena Ochoa basically walked away from her sport at age 28 after being a superb player for nearly a decade.

Tracy McGrady didn't even start until his 4th year in the league and he was pretty much done by 28 years of age and retired at 32.
