From the press release, Jay gets to be ceo of the new entity but the Saudi Prince is the Chairman of the Board. So Jay now answers to him.

I think it’s going to be interesting to see how quickly everything changes

What happens to the liv tournaments this year and next? Do they immediately get points? Are the liv players still required to play those events? Etc etc

The funniest thing is to watch all the “blood money” people crawl in a hole. That was always such a lame arse reasoning to be against anything

Makes sense why Rory had piped down

I wonder if he negotiated himself a piece

He was saying Euro LIV guys shouldn't be in the Ryder Cup last week

Jay left his biggest defender in the dark. A complete scumbag

I am actually a big fan of LIV and what it was doing for Golf...this is a HUGE win for the fans. Now we get 3 different tours rolled into one with some elements from both sides. This is going to be great for the game. I know some don't like the team aspect, but i love it. This is going to create some real rivalries in the sport, which were desperately need IMO. You get the individual winner takes all traditional event and within that same event, you get the team aspect of it now too...just like the Olympics. Golf is a world sport and this merger is creating the future of the sport without changing the sport per se. Again...the fans win!!!!

Yea, the PGA does kinda come off looking shitty here, very shitty.

But they're also getting paid, so they didn't entirely lose.

I was definitely on the side that thought the PGA's sanctimony was absurd

But please leave all that team stuff with the sports bar trivia night names behind IMO

Not sure I like the idea of Saudis having a stake in the PGA now

This. Don’t get why everyone is making fun of guys like Rory - I admire his stance.

He and Tiger and the other hardliners need to push back hard against this and make it clear they won’t play with Saudi money.

I love it...give it time to evolve!! I think the team aspect is going to inject some serious juice to the sport by way of real rivalries. The sport needs it IMO.

Shiiiiiiiit, Tiger will probably get paid a cool Billion from the Saudis to form his very own "Team Tiger Brand"...this is GREAT for the sport.

Some of the concept is fine IMO but golf thrived without teams. The LIV implementation was beyond cringe.

I still don't understand why LIV didn't invest huge money in readying elite picturesque courses for tournament play and going crazy on the tech. Show me Koepka hitting an iron shot on a cliff in Scotland with an 8k drone shot hanging over the edge, etc.

I think it’s most likely LIV realizing it couldn’t be sustainable and taking a deal. Shocked they were able to work something out, but I’m hopeful this is great news for the fans.

Perhaps, and the PGA Tour possibly facing more defections. PGA Tour must have thought there was some risk in them *not* making a deal, otherwise they wouldn't have made it.

PGA Tour players seeing guys like Brooks and DJ get more money for playing fewer, shorter events and still get to play in the majors. That first wave of guys took the most criticism, easier for others to leave after this season.
