re: PGA Tour to merge with LIV Golf

This is going to be nothing once we can get some great golf going on tv. The sooner the better. Wish there was a little bit stronger field this week. Maybe that is another reason they did that this week. They were going to look like this was a bad draw for a tourney and that would have been talked about. This will make us want more which they are giving us.

Ratings have been lackluster since those guys went to LIV. next year they'll be back.

The only reason you think it failed is that the PGA was able to pull some Democrat-type hypocrisy and got the networks to stay away so LIV didn’t have a good tv deal.
Nobody watched LIV. It would have failed if there was not a bottomless pit of money behind it.

They convinced Tiger to decline $750 million to reject LIV

So you say you go by actions but then get so upset about words, aka guys trashing the PGA tour. Words mean nothing in sports. Every player, every team, and every organization lie everyday. All that matters are actions.
If you are upset with any player for going to LIV then that’s fine because you at least are using actions as a basis. But to use words as a basis is just comical. Watching Rory yesterday was just funny to see a grown multi millionaire wax about his “hatred” for a non-living entity. What actions did LIV ever do to harm Rory? The only action LIV did that involved Rory was to offer him a huge contract and he hates them for it? It’s just odd. What Rory really hates is that reality exposed that his bubble of self importance in the golf world was shattered by people with real power.

Notice Tiger still hasn’t made a public comment this week? Tiger isn’t going to pop off and make ultimatums “the LIV guys are going to have penalties to come back” and “LIV is done”. Rory says these things when his only source of information is the same guy who already made him the “sacrificial lamb”.

PIF wants them on LIV and to play/market internationally. The PGA Tour was all USA. PIF/LIV looking at the increasing their market, that’s the investment. Sure, the LIV guys will play some tour events now but going forward no matter what it’s called (or how it is merged) bigger names players will be playing a more international schedule.
Likely the team aspect will remain to help people [new fans] identify with the players. Teams will probably get even more regional specific SA, Aus, Spain, UK, etc. I’m guessing they will have alternate players too. As in each team will have six players but only playing four per tournament.

Rory is not in the loop that's a certainty. Greg Norman on a conference call told his LIV troops they were moving forward and said he was already finishing up the schedule for 2024 and 2025. At the same time as PGA pontificates about what it's going to cost LIV players to get back to the tour, there is zero indication from the LIV players they want any part of playing in a single PGA tourney. It's wild not to appreciate that LIV guys are just laughing at Rory and mouthpieces like Chamblee. The PGA has been turned upside down on its head. The LIV Golfers have had zero disruption at this point.
The purse money has always been better at LIV Golf and the team concept is making guys like Pat Perez rich beyond anything he was getting before. These guys are not showing any interest in all this as a way back. Why would they?
In Short, guys like Rory expecting LIV to just go away is like hoping Monahan gets a conscience.

Am I sure the PIF/LIV is going to purposely put the biggest names in golf on a more international stage?
Absolutely
Absolutely

What does the PIF pushing for a couple PGA Tour events overseas have to do with LIV golf tournaments?
Why would PIF want LIV golf to exist moving forward? It’s pure shite.

I found that odd as well. So you chose not to go. Fine. But why so much hate?
At this point he’s got to feel played.

They will be LIV tournaments. Take your blinders off.
One of the few things actually said is the team aspect is staying, that’s LIV regardless if it’s name changes.
They [PIF/LIV] will have an international team event series.

Why was Jon Rahm about to jump to LIV?
There are still going to be LIV events going forward and you will see more PGA players joining in. Expect to see a team with JT, Speith, Rickie at some point.

Why was Jon Rahm about to hill to LIV?
And would you like to address your false statement about Tiger not giving ultimatums?
