My god man. I thought we had a good little bit of banter. I even went back to see what idiot posted this. I was disappointed to see it was you. You’re just not all there are you? I will change how I respond to you. Don t want you to hurt yourself or others. Honestly man. I will admit you kicked my arse and won every argument if it means you’re ok. I’m gonna back away from these threads. I thought it was banter. Had no idea it was real.

This is an odd reaction

Not really. I’m just concerned for him. Honestly. I like the banter, but I don’t want to see anyone actually be hurt. This is a message board. It isn’t important.

How would you feel if tomorrow you found out that the Saudis bought Jay Monahan off? And that's what this is all about? Maybe the Saudis gave Monahan a Billion dollars for a piece of the pie.

How in the world would you and Rory feel about that?

What I love about this and NIL in college football is that that money will actually be used to bring transparency. All this talk of “doing what is right” and “student athletes” has all been exposed as just BS to hide what was really happening. The PGA caved so their books wouldn’t be made public in the lawsuit and because the other guy had more money. They lost before they even knew they had an adversary. NIL has exposed the hypocrisy in college sports. Instead of Burger King bags full of cash now you can just sign a deal.

Both of these developments are good for their sports because now there are no back door deals to be had. You want a 5star then just pony up just like LIV did and the PGA did. The LIV players were absolutely right in taking the deals offered by LIV. The other guys are just mad because they bet on the wrong horse. This isn’t complicated. Some guys get the pretty girls and some get stuck with other ones. What you saw today from Rory was one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a long time. You “hate” a thing? What he really means is he hates his decision to not date the pretty girl and now the pretty girl is moving in next door because daddy Monahan sold her the empty lot where Rory built his fort.

Why would I care about money I will never see a cent of? That was the weirdest thing you liv fanboys did, celebrate others making money like it helped you out

You would make a great Monahan sheep. See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil. If you have these fine qualities you could be the majority.

I assume and hope so.

I’m confused by the arguments we’re seeing.

It looks like the PGA Tour just got funded by a Saudi Prince who is(will) drop LIV like an fat gf and these guys are celebrating when their entire debate when it all started was the format of LIV tournaments was fresh, exciting, and what was driving the league.

None of us were under any illusion that the Saudis weren’t capable of simply buying the entire sport. They could literally buy the PGA Tour if they wanted. That isn’t a “win” for LIV.

Our opponents in this debate were rooting FOR LIV. They weren’t rooting for the Saudis.

Now the Saudis leave LIV in the dust and these guys are chest bumping like the LIV league they championed has won Wtf

I wouldn’t like it, but what does that have to do with you thinking LIV is good?

No need. Buy the players and shake up the sport in order to strong arm your way to the table. LIV was arse and never meant to succeed. It was something else. Just a tool for the rich people to accomplish their goal. PIF and LIV are not the same.

Oh I hear you and I know what they were trying to do. As a fan it could have been a cool test ground for stuff without having to worry about the money aspect. Instead they adopted a bunch of shite nobody wanted to see and most of which probably (hopefully) won’t stick around.

You took that away from, this?

So going forward, if the deal goes through, you think most events will be played on LIv courses with 54 holes and it will be run by Greg Norman and staff

This time last year the PGA had the boys down on the plantation, economically speaking. Now look.

Leverage is a beautiful thing.

The information coming out today indicates a bunch of PGA players are going to get a huge financial windfall, and a bunch of LIV guys aren’t getting anything close to the money promised.

Tomorrow’s news will probably be full of different information. The point is that there’s still a lot of details to be unwrapped.

The only thing certain at this point is that the Saudis won because their endgame has always been a piece of the PGA Tour. They are closing down the LIV Tour as soon as possible, and going all in on the PGA Tour. Who benefits the most by LIV going away, and PIF money flowing into the PGA and DP tours is still unknown.

Rahm likely was going to LIV? If so, now we know why the PGA caved.

If true

Agreed. The PGA Tour is now owned by the Saudis. They bought it. Like Norman did for NIL, they’ll keep some Americans and Europeans at the forefront for appearances but the reality is what the Prince wants is what will happen. And make no mistake, the Saudis are brutal and will do whatever they want to do with Tour. They play a long game. I expect they’ll place for a few years and then will put their vision in place.
