Did Monahan really think that business meeting was going to fly without transparency as to why all this happened?
You make this deal and you better face these men and have answers.
Sounds like he winged it and had no idea how to handle it. That’s shite.

Was shocking. The players called Monahan a hypocrite and he agreed. They even called for a union. That sounds like Monahan doesn't have an answer beyond money.
Guess who really sold their soul to the devil?

I can’t say I’m thrilled with Saudi buying their way into a controlling interest in professional golf. I don’t see how anyone would be really.

Forget words as they mean nothing. Actions are what always tell the truth. The PGA thru their actions waived the white flag by accepting the money and keeping the information from the players. If it was really a good deal for the PGA then their actions would have led to transparency. Since this was done in complete silence speaks volumes. The head of world wide golf is now a Saudi with your typical lap dog American as his bag boy.
And wait until they do the same with tennis, basketball, etc. The Americans use to be the stars of big business but those days are loooong gone. The world is now run by the Chinese and Saudis who are smart enough to keep it quiet while they run everything in silence.

Said it earlier and truly believe this could be a potential outcome at the end of all this BS once the dust settles.
“Unionization of the work force could be a likely result.”

Would be amazing if we see a class action suit by the players against their own tour.
Or maybe...they break away and start another tour?
The players ARE the Tour. If they don't like the way things are going, they can unionize, or just collectively leave and start something else.

How do you feel about Chinese human rights abuses, ethnic Muslims forced into slave labor, the Chinese being solely responsible for deaths of millions world-wide, and refusing any culpability. A regime propped up by American Corporate entities that are major sponsors of the PGA Tour.

PGA had their chance to accept several offers before the formation of LIV Golf and rejected them all. Had they had the foresight to do right by the players to begin with, this shite is never a topic or a blip on the radar of who’s funding what or who’s sitting on who’s board of directors. Monahan is single handedly responsible for this shite show

What does any of that have to do with not wanting Saudi to control golf? It isn’t a what about thing. If given the choice, I would rather not have Saudi in control of professional golf. Are you under the impression that this new tour won’t take on sponsors?

What are your issues, if any, with PIF approaching NFL players and paying them 50-300 million dollar signing bonuses for NFL players to play 8 games a year, sometimes at high school stadiums?

Sounds like LIV really under-covered some good shite during the discover phase of the litigation process

If Congress takes the PGA tax-exempt status it's coming. If the DOJ lets this merger complete its appointed rounds these billions of dollars of new Saudi money may be what it takes to solve the charity entity known as the PGA.

Will Brandle survive? I would think SA wants him gone from having access.

The damage was done. It's best to face the music and take your lumps.

These losers on Golf Channel are more butthurt about Phil than I have ever seen anyone be butthurt about anything.
Phil owned these stupid motherfrickers.

I’m curious if they still get all of their money, or if this deal nullifies their contracts.
I would 100% assume their contracts were on an annual basis, none of them were paid in full in advance, and there was a stipulation in their contract with this exact scenario in mind.
That said, there isn't one LIV player who didn't absolutely slay it financially in this entire saga.

Amazing how they have this status anyway. I mean how in the hell does anyone explain the ponying up of all this extra money when their hand gets forced by LIV to create these special set of tournaments with high $$$ payouts to retain players. It ain’t sponsors coming up with all that extra cash to retain them. Did they just say frick the charities they were supporting and give them that much less???
