Nah, I think it's a very rare scenario where Jay and the PGA did take a huge L just in terms of optics, but ultimately, Jay is coming out out of the bottom of this in a better situation.

I was mostly indifferent to this but if this is true i do get some amusement from how much bellyaching and bitching like a woman Rory Mcilroy did only to be merged with them now.
A slight dose of karma for him I'd say and well deserved
It takes a special kind of bitch to think Rory is the one who came out looking bad during this whole thing. Name the Sonic location.
Also, Rory and the other PGA guys need to kick Jay Monahan's arse.

I always viewed LIV as a disruptor. In that lens, LIV has been an unqualified success.
That's all it ever was.
It was a bully trying to frick with a known commodity.
It existed just to see what it could do in the long run.
And now its part of the PGA tour

Monahan is a big giant CUCK, no way to spin it any other way. LIV players made bank and get a path to rejoin tour, while loyal tour players are left holding the bag and saying WTF. PIF's first investment should be to keep the "loyal" membership "happy" or else this does not go away anytime soon in my opinion. Unionization of the work force could be a likely result.

quote:Nah, they got all the players back together, and a shite ton of money coming in now.
If the PGA players are losers in this, then so is golf. The PGA did a 180 and then some. They stood on the so-called moral high ground to further separate the 2 entities.
quote:2 years, 7 years from now...no one will give a shite about this, not enough to put a dent in anything the PGA is doing.
How do you take "blood money" back? How do you take "9-11" back?
Liv certainly won. The PGA absolutely looks dumb, but they also have a massive win as well.

And the CEO is only a title, he's a puppet and you know it.
I imagine Jay will have way more autonomy to call the shots than people think because of this.

Are you serious? What a dumb take. Hell for me I own my own business, I choose who I do work for. Everybody that works for me chose to work for me and can freely leave whenever they want and I don't tell them what and when to speak.

This isn't a merger between the LIV and PGA Tour. This is a merger between the PIF and the PGA Tour.
The LIV as an organization is actually the party that is going to be left out.
Sports Illustrated just reported that Greg Norman will have NO role going forward.

Tell me how that might work?
He just got billions invested into his tour, will bring all the players back together, and is now the CEO with that big investment and as I understand it, PGA still has majority interest.

The lesson here is to always do what's best for yourself. Even the PGA Tour will throw their most loyal guys right under the bus for a dollar. Rory, JT, Scheffler, etc should be calling for Monahan's head right now.

The competitor's sole goal was to establish a foothold and influence into professional golf.
Both sides won.

Saudi's/LIV/PIF won dumbass. Monahan had a chance several years ago to make this happen without all the fracture of professional golf. He gave them the middle finger and you have the result of that today. End of story, you can't spin it to even try make a little walking around sense.

He could have simply said Liv wasn't for him, he understands why dudes left, but he preferred to stay on the PGA tour and that would be that.
But he specifically called out the dirty money being why he was against it, and now he's backed himself into a corner where he is going to play for that dirty money too.

Wouldn’t winning have been LIv being extremely successful, and thus taking over the PGA and having full control?
