Just my thoughts…

I think PFT is hilarious, but I totally understand why everyone doesn’t get it.

Hank on the other hand is actually just an idiot I think, and it’s funny to laugh at the dumb shite he does and says.

Jake Marsh is genuinely one of the least funny, interesting, and talented people in the history of barstool.

He’s been gone for quite a while. He was there to get some on screen time commenting on games to help him move onto real commentary jobs.

The entire premise of the PMT brand is making fun of people who take sports and sports reporting too serious.

If you want them to sit down and have a buttoned up conversation, then go listen to another show

I enjoy it because it's fun and light

But that whole show has just gotten old, or maybe I’m just getting old.
I feel the same way. Actually ran into PFT at the Caps Stanley Cup win in Vegas almost 10 years ago (holy shite time flies) and he was really cool and down to earth. (Probably still is).

Having said that, it feels like his on air persona has become a caricature of what originally made him funny. The traits that were funny in moderation have been turned up so far that they overshadow the actual humor and it just comes across as trying way too hard now. Meanwhile, Big Cat has seemed to evolve over the years and I still think he’s funny as frick. And they need to give Trip McNeely more air time BING BONG

And yeah Hank seems like the biggest loser. I have no idea how he is friends with everyone in that group. Just a wet blanket of a personality.

Oh no, I understand the premise. I just get tired of someone that isn’t funny trying to be funny.

PFT will have some kind of stupid joke, say it over and over again like people didn’t hear him or understand what he was going for the first time he said it, and you can feel the guys in the room want to say “oh no man, we got it the first time, it just wasn’t funny at all.”

And here’s the thing, I bet he’s a pretty good guy to hang around with and I’m sure off screen when he’s not having to be funny as a bit or something, that he’s actually a pretty funny guy. But his character on PMT is just not funny at all to me.

It's that east coast drunkard smarminess that always gets me. Big Cat on the other hand, is a beautiful bristly baby boy that must be protected at all costs, especially so that Jersey Jerry can continue to be paid for no work.

Why is a random thread about PFT on here?

PFT will say some clever stuff that does go over most of the heads in that room. Max and Hank are functionally retarded, and it seems like Big Cat isn't even paying attention half the time.

PFT needs to let the jokes marinade and trust that some of the listeners got it. He goes too far trying to get validation from the room, and then it becomes uncomfortable.

There's a TikTok account that highlights his niche or high level history jokes he makes every month. Some of them are extremely clever, but to your point Max and Hank, and Big Cat to a lesser extent, are all usually too dumb to get some of them.

I still enjoy PMT, and during football season is where they really shine. Weekend NFL recaps on Monday, CFB recaps on Wednesday, and weekend previews for betting on Friday is a solid schedule they set up for themselves.

So he's the Seth MacFarlane of Sports Media. This is why people find him unfunny. Do we need niche jokes that no one but him and other smarmy drunks chortle over?

they've become what they mocked at first. I find PMT pretty unlistenable during football season

I still enjoy mount rushmore season

Honestly T-Bob and Brandon are the only people worth watching on their entire brand. I don’t find anyone else either funny or interesting to listen to. Barstool is weird bc it was built on appealing to college students, but all the guys still running it are now middle age curmudgeons.

They helped launch McAfee, CHD, Bussin, but it’s a dead brand now. If it went away nobody would miss it

So glad he spread his wings and flew away. The bit was he was an intern Darren Rovell. But I guess big cat felt sorry for him and just shoved him into everything with his shitty play by play.

He was funny enough for the age of the internet when he first appeared. Much less so now.

In general deadpan ironic trolling lost its amusement power a long time ago. Every site still has one poor soul who will never give it up, like Gaucho on here

The addition of Zach I don't get. Dude is a complete man child that can't wake up in the morning on time and Big Cat just babies him. Lucked into the best job possible and can't grow up.

He’s the best by a long shot of the 3 that Big Cat has hired for his “lucked into the best job and can’t grow up” schtick. It’s him over Billy Football and Huey.
