so why is it ok for Peyton to do this, but not LeBron?

I had Lebron's back as well.

It's a desire to win. Notice, two of the most competitive athletes you will see did this. when you lose a big game, the first instinct is to get pissed, not congratulate someone.

And I bet in both instances, this was offered at a later, and still appropriate time.

Meh he threw the pick that sealed the SUPER BOWL for the Saints. It would take any of us a little bit to get over that as well. I've heard he plans on contacting the Saints players and congratulating them personally. I have no problem with his actions. No one really should give a shite, WE JUST WON THE SUPER BOWL!!!! lol

I think that had a lot to do with it. I don't know why he can't just admit that instead of using the stage excuse.

It doesn't really bother me either way. Manning has always been a pretty sore loser though.

There was so much confusion on the field immediately after the clock ran out that I couldn't even see if the two coaches met and shook hands.

And for all I know Peyton might have gone into the Saints locker room and shook hand with Brees. And if he didn't I don't imagine Drew has lost a minutes sleep worrying about it.

right.

him not shaking hands doesn't bother me too much. Not admitting it was poor judgment does irk me a little.

Yes they did and I was part of it. However I just don't see this a such a big deal. Do you think DREW is pissed about it??? or Payton??? Get over it!!! Manning is a class act and great for the league.

It's not just when they lose either. Peyton has never made a mistake that wasn't someone else's fault

well, if what was said on the super bowl board was true, he was probably ashamed because he had just finished throwing the super bowl.

He gave his reason why he didn't, didn't wanna get in the way of the spotlight of Brees and the Saints. You can believe it or not, but Manning has always proven to be classy, and was that way with his postgame remarks. Reaching here.

This. I'm far from a Manning apologist but I thought it was classy that he let the Saints have the spotlight. I believe he also said he contacted Brees and explained what happened then congratulated him.

It was a loss in the Eastern Conference Championship series that sent the Magic to Finals...

because peyton gave all the credit in the world to the saints in the post game press conference where lebron did not even show up at the press conference

I don't think showing up to a press conference justifies or validates his actions.
