I think the school will allow him to resign, but he's not staying. He's toast.

Just reading the accusations and the chain of events, just makes me sick

I agree with the writer of the article I linked who believes when the grad assistant went to Paterno and then met with Curley and the AD, they clearly told him "let us handle it...don't tell anyone else if you know what's good for you".

If you look at how everything went down and how nary a word has ever leaked about this for many years, you have to believe an organized cover up was in place.

Paterno had knowledge that this dude was sodomizing a 10 year old in the locker room and still allows him to be around the program and doesn't even tell the cops???

AND he's still getting a paycheck from the school?

The KIDS come first. There is no debate about this. They failed to protect kids and that is incredibly egregious

Amen Pilot Tiger. Idiots that are defending JOe Pa because he won a lot of football games don't understand the gravity of the offenses and the greater crime of blatantly covering it up.

Men and Leaders should protect the innocent above all other goals. These kids were victimized. Grown adults came to a knowlege of what happened to them and sat in silence and did not stand up for what was right.

I have zero tolerance for that.

It appears Jo Pa doesn't take sexual assault accusations serious...

NOW leader calls for Paterno's resignation

Victim blaming in one case (2006) and allowing one of his players accused of sexual assault play in a bowl game (2003). And I am sick of the..."he old and didn't mean it excuse as well."

The fact that people are scrambling to defend Paterno is a joke. Had the guy not been there for decades, no one would be jumping to his defense. It's disgusting and indefensible to allow the guy to be affiliated with the team, not to mention retain an office in the football ops building, after the multiple allegations, including those that happened IN THE frickING LOCKER ROOM.

I don't think so. I am willing to bet there is no child sexual assault listed in there campus crime report.

And what for? Why the concerted effort to cover up for a former coach? Yes it would have looked bad on the University, but damn this is going to get bad, really bad.

Same reason the catholic church has systematically covered up abuse by priests for many many decades re assigning them to other parishes. It defies any reasonable explanation

Joe is a football coach. He's not an administrator. It's not in his job description to perform a citizen's arrest on the guy. He did what is required of him.

Dude, your life compass is way out of adjustment. Good thing your little boy or nephew wasn't a victim after JoePa found out.

JoePa may be in the wrong, but I can't bring myself to agree with anybody that thinks what he did was JUST AS BAD as the guy that fricked a kid in the arse. If you really think that, your opinion on anything else means nothing.

Who's worse, OJ or Al Cowlings? Casey Anthony or her parents?

Because the University, and more specifically Joe Paterno, would do whatever it took to get that coaching record! If this would have came out at the time it happen, they would have to clean house which meant no record. So some innocent lives got ruin because of these! Can there be any other reason?

Also, anyone defending Joe, you obviously do not have kids. He called his superiors!! He is fricking Penn State! He did not want to know what was going on so he turn a coke-bottled glass eye the other way. He is as responsible as everyone else.
