Not unless they take Washington out and put UGA in.

UGA is worse than UT and Wash?

Hell, they are worse than FSU without their starting QB?

I don’t disagree, but UT was only included to justify Bama being in.

I agree and said as much the other day. They couldn’t put Bama in and leave Texas out. People would be more pissed than they are now.

The result is FSU gets fricked so Bama could be included. Given the reasoning they used of “best 4”, UGA also got fricked.

Then Georgia should have been in, as well.

“He was confused and the sound of the pack of his mangy hounds barking at some unwelcome critter scurrying along the base of his above ground swimming pool made it all the more difficult to craft a reasonable response to this latest message board threat. He wished that he could inflict physical harm on his antagonist, or his trees, in the fashion employed by countless Gumps who preceded him in the arena. Pondering more pretzel logic, it was at this point when bamamesiter eyes unwillingly diverted to the lower right hand corner of the box. It was an involuntary search for validation they he could not avoid. A quick dart of the eyes and a lump in his gump throat reveals what he found there. A complete disdain of his thoughts and opinions, a rejection of his mental aptitude, a broken down gymnasium apparatus that he once twisted and somersaulted on for a different audience. An audience of clapping gump seals. As he stepped outside of Plato’s cave for the first time, he didn’t care for the world he found waiting for him.”

Texas was toast until BAMA flexed in the SECCG.

Again, if they are having to put Texas in to justify putting in Bama, then Bama doesn't deserve to be in.

Their hubris doesn't allow them to see this.

They are a great of example of "everything that is wrong with college football". It seems like ever year we have to watch the supposed greatest coach in the history of the sport explain why his team should get considerations no other programs get. Then, when they get those opportunities no one else gets and "win", this justifies more narrative changes for them in the future.

It is hilarious to watch.

Bama lost at home by double digits to the hardest game on their schedule (Texas). This game shows how they compete against playoff caliber teams, eliminated.

Georgia lost at a neutral site by 3 to the hardest team on its schedule (Bama). No conference championship, eliminated.

Texas lost by 3 on neutral site, but are conference champions. Borderline, but in as a 4 seed.

Florida State won every game, including the hardest on their schedule. Conference champion, should be in and given a shot.

Ah...so why play the season? We have a bunch of Nostradamus soothsayers. Another lame excuse covering for the behind the scenes politics called $ and ESPN.

A loss to a two loss team is better than a loss to a one loss team.

1 win over top 15 is better than 3 wins over top 15.

A #13 SOS is better than a #5 SOS.

A Big 12 Championship is better than a SEC Championship.

The BEST game of the Playoff last season was the Georgia vs Ohio State game. Ohio State not only didn't win their conference championship, they didn't play in it.

2021 Georgia lost to BAMA in the SECCG and went on to win the Natty.

2017 BAMA didn't play in the SECCG and won the Natty

2016 Ohio State didn't go to their conference championship again and got into the Playoff.

You were saying?

oh, so now we care about what makes the “best” game regardless of outcome?

the spin continues

So, it’s the best game, not the best team?

I’m getting overwhelmed by the number of justifications going on.

“It’s about the best 4 teams!”

“It’s about who we predict will win. Although, we have been horribly wrong in the past, this time we are right!”

“It’s about the best game!”

Their thinking would be understandable if they had dropped Florida State to #6 after the Travis injury. But they had Florida State at #4 leading up to the ACC Championship Game. Why not state that from the beginning instead of dropping FSU down at the last minute?
Weeks before the final poll they mentioned FSU and said they would not punish them for the injury before seeing how it changed the offense.

Dude I was screaming from mountain tops about how ridiculous the committee was starting in poll 2 this year. Of course they fricked it up in the end. They had it fricked up the whole time.

Y’all didn’t really care then, of course. Because it was Alabama(and Texas) getting screwed.

The loss severely hurt Alabama. What more did y’all want the committee to do with that loss? 1 loss to a playoff team while Alabama had the best(maybe top 3 best?) resume almost cost Alabama the playoff spot. The loss was very detrimental.

And if Jordan Travis could walk Alabama would be out.

(I think FSU should have made the playoff)
