I agree somewhat, but if you’re a fan of a college football team, then you probably realize how important NSD is for the immediate future of your favorite school. So it’s ok to get excited about the prospects your program signs.
The part I do agree is creepy is stalking prospects on social media.
Also I don’t follow recruiting, I follow NSD. I couldn’t care less where a kid commits until they officially sign.

Sounds like OP diddles with kids and this thread made him feel better. Fwiw I don’t care anything about HS recruiting

Maybe but every coach says they won NSD… it isn’t until a few years later that we find out who really did

Eh, it is on-par with people who obsess over celebrities.
Most celebrities are over the age of 18, and have already done something in their professional careers in order to become celebrities.
Old men who obsess over teenage boys on social media are deeply disturbed.

Outside of family, any adult who keeps up with kids on social media is weird. I’d imagine most people who follow HS recruiting to keep up with a university they root for, more than likely doesn’t do that. You can keep up with HS recruiting, something people have done for decades, and not be a pedophile, man yall are weird. As I said earlier, I don’t keep up with it, but know plenty of normal people who do

I follow Early Signing Day and it really doesn't take long to figure out how we are doing. Recruiting is the lifeblood of your program for years to come. If you love college football you will feel the same way.
All this stuff about following players on Twitter is an entirely different sport and has nothing to do with the excitement most fans feel today about their team.

Are you not able to distinguish this from the topic that the OP is posting about?
It’s common sense not to message recruits. Why even start this thread.

Recruiting is the lifeblood of college football. National signing day was the lifeblood of college football. If you thinks it’s weird to follow it than you’re not a college football fan and even worse you post on a college football message board.

Yea, and you think people who don't have a family member playing, who go to high school games are weird too. When I was able, I went to a game every Friday night. I grew up in Louisiana and Mississippi, but lived in Dallas for 28 years. Saw lots of good high school football games except for the four years I was playing the sport.
I'm the guy that's going to tell you I was at the 1st Texas high school football game ever televised nationally.. Denton Ryan @ Southlake Carroll in 2004. I wore an LSU jacket. A guy who played at Neville saw me and he and his gf stayed, & sat with my gf and I. His gf had on an LSU jacket.
Southlake Carroll was led by QB Chase Daniel. Ryan was led by DE Jarvis Moss, one of Urban Meyer's most important Florida recruits.
I was at Allen, Tx @ Longview sitting on the grass hill in one endzone. Allen's band took up all of the bleachers on the visitor's side. Longview pulled out an upset with an outstanding performance by the Longview QB on the ground and an opportunistic defense. Former NLU/ULM 1-AA national championship winning coach, Pat Collins was in his last year as Longview's AD.
A buddy and I drove from Dallas to watch the game. My buddy had coached at the high school level in the aream as well as at the Div II level, and knew lots of coaches all over the DFW Metroplex. I coached for a couple of years in NELA in the 80's.
I get a Bally Sports channel on my cable that shows CIF Southern Section high school games from the Los Angeles area at 9:30 Central time. That's some of the top teams in the western US. Teams like Mater Dei, St. John Bosco, Serra, Carlsbad, Calabasas, Oaks Christian. Who wouldn't want to see how good those guys look?
Even though I've worked for media outlets covering NFL, NBA, MLB, CFB and one NHL game, LSU football games are the only games I enjoy watching more than high school football games. Why is watching or keeping up with high school games weird?

2) mad cause Moana is being re made into a live person show
3) gambling on WWE wrestling

following recruiting, and seeing how your favorite team recruits on an annual basis, i don't think that's creepy....
grown men following HS athletes' social media stuff, yeah, that's creepy... i can understand if you are a journalist who's job it is to cover recruiting, but if you just some average dude with no reason to be following these dudes, yeah, that's odd...

Mr Clean level cringe
Mr Clean writes articles for local papers, it's sort of his job to a degree or at least a hobby that gets him a little cash. Using the word cringe like a teenage girl is sort of creepy.
I'm pretty sure he's also a pretty big guy, probably don't want to call him creepy to his face.

It’s like a dick measuring contest for nerds who never played sports to be like, “we have a better recruiting class that your school or a rival school!!!”
75 percent of each signing class rarely even contributes

I tend to believe that if you have a website service that advertises HS athletes, then you have a difficult job. Going to all of those HS games and interviewing kids must be exhausting after a while.

Sports fandom and paedophilia (and homosexuality, for that matter) don't really go hand in hand. Definitely a negative correlation.
