I don't know if they'll ever recover once it's all said and done.

He mentioned that the BOD had more deliberations on mor eissues in the short term and he would be watching to see that they makek the right actions........
I think there is more REAL shite to come.

I really believe that these people are acting out in frustration....actually probably shock!! Ill give them a little bit of slack for the recent actions...but reality has to start setting in soon! Its sad to see such a great fan base in such denial. I know as an Ohio State fan we had our fair share during the Tress situation, but god dam people, we are talking about child rape and cover up on a level never seen before. This isnt going away anytime soon and quite frankly may damage this university in a way that makes SMU look good! To think that just a few weeks ago Paterno was winning number 409 and was held in such high regard. Such a sad story for all of society to learn from!

Obviously a very different situation... but if you gave me the choice between my alma mater having a SMU scandal and a PSU scandal?
I would take the SMU scandal in a heartbeat

I know a lot of fans of different schools here in the SEC that try to seperate the program from the coaches who break rules. I have no doubt that they would even in this case. They would blame the coaches / administration and want them fired but you would never hear them say to shut down their program.
For example, if it came out that Jim McElwain was doing this, do you really think that the Updykes would be calling to shut down the program? Please!

I wouldn't expect anyone to do that. But it's the way they are till caught up in the fact that Joe Pa is fired. Sucks for them, but he had to go and there are much bigger fish to fry right now, even as far as their program is concerned to them as fans. They can't see the forest for the trees.

Look, I do not care what school, what conference, whatever - when what has gone on, is going on, ABSOLUTELY
I am affiliated with Northwestern State, Tulane and LSU and I would insist the same for any of them if this was going on.

If that pimping out to donors story is true, PSU should quit football. That is sick.

Nah. Americans have the attention span of a goldfish and the next big thing that happens will have people going crazy over that. Sure, it won't go away, but this won't be a huge deal for that much longer (I'm talking another few months tops).

In that sense, sure. But PSU football will never be the same again. They will be reeling from this for a long time.

I feel sorry for the fact that your brain doesn't have the ability to use logic and reason. Notice how I said you and not LSU? Does this click in your brain at all?

Normally I'd agree, but this is an exception. I think this is just getting started. There will probably be more arrests, more allegations, and of course trials. And if there's any validity to the claim that this charitable foundation was used to pimp out young boys, this is gonna get really, really ugly.

Does anyone else think the timing is weird? Like shortly after he breaks eddie robinsons all time record and not before? Maybe they held on to this information even longer. The shite is sick and everyone should pay the rapist(s) most of all. Did the rapist have children, grandchildren or family members he raped also I wonder? If so were they kept quiet or secretly and quietly sent away?

Oates, what are your thoughts about Paterno and his culpability?
Posted on 11/10/11 at 6:37 pm to Festus
Before we knew all of this I liked him but thought he should have retired years ago. Now I wish he would get charged for not reporting it to the police. Everyone keeps saying that he followed the legal rules which is correct. However people keep saying that it was hearsay and he did the right thing. bullshite.
It's not for him to worry about the hearsay aspect of it. Thats why the police get paid. People make allegations ask day long. Let the police worry about that.
I honestly hope they remove at least the physical traces of him from the campus (statue). He, along with several other PSU officials failed those kids.

There were so many people that knew about the charges towards Sandusky that it seems just improbable that Joe can claim no knowledge of Sandusky's activity.
