Then the university's board and president need to order the athletic director to make staffing cuts to eliminate the bloat and run the athletic department more efficiently....or they'll find another AD who can.

How has the state legislature not intervened? Public universities should not be able to sell off their athletic departments to investors.
Its Utah
Not too long ago, Utah was pushing for federal public lands in Utah to be turned over to the state so the state could sell the land.
Selling off valuable long term assets to get a one time revenue boost seems to be on par for that state.

Sorry, but PE doesn't give a shite about winning championships. They only care about maximizing profits. Return on investment is PE's championship.
Didn’t say nothing about winning championships… I stated revenue to remain competitive… it’s a difference… the only way to maximize profits is to keep the product competitive … this will eventually happen at every major university… it’ll get to the point where financial advisors advise against their clients funding NIL when they can actually own a piece of the team

The layoffs will continue until “investors” have all the money and morale improves.
And when all value has been squeezed out they will walk away.

College athletics is dead and forever will be. Nothing will bring it back at this point. Prove me wrong.

You are quite right. It's junior pro with school names on the front.

frick PE.
It's a malignant cancer that destroys everything it touches
PE is one of the great advantages of the American system. You are woefully ignorant of it and what it accomplishes. PE is constantly reallocating resources in better, more efficient, ways. Get rid of the private equity market and America would sink below Europe.

Can’t wait for PE to sign a deal with Walmart to provide the new team uniforms and shoes. Can’t have Nike making all that margin, that belongs to the PE firm. Ya know, efficiency and all.
