Tech needs to burn it down and start over. They could easily compete for recruits here in Georgia if they would get rid of the option.

Not unless the higher ups on the academic side change their ways. We also have one of the lowest budgets in the ACC. Duke spends more on football than we do. I will have a lot of great memories because of CPJ. Orange Bowl, Acc Championships, Beating UGA 3x. Great coach who did a lot with little.

If Georgia Tech follows UNC's logic, George O'Leary should be receiving a call soon.

My dad went to GT for undergrad and grad school. They were my 2nd favorite team growing up, and still are. I couldn't be happier to see PJ retire. frick the triple option.

Having a second favorite team is soooooo Alabama.

Come on man... yall were once stacked with NFL talent in the early 2000s with CHAN DULLDRUMS GAILEY. Stop with the loser mentality.

Go get yourself Neal Brown from Troy, and start recruiting like you are capable of recruiting.

Seriously. How dare I root for the schools my parents went to, since i was 5-6. Even though my school didn't have a football team. I should've just given up on college football fandom all together. That Georgia Tech bandwagon is also pretty huge.

Their administration handicaps their athletic department or at least that's what some tech fans say

Monkin from Army would be an excellent hire.

Problem is everyone has to take calculus and they don't have the typical jock majors to hide football and bball players in that even schools like Stanford and Northwestern do.

LMAO and that is why the academic side tightened down. O'leary was allowed to take some kids that we won't take now. We were put on probation for playing ineligible players in 2003. Call it what you will, but we can't compete with the likes of Clemson, Alabama, and Georgia for athletes. Every once in a while we can land a Calvin Johnson, but those types of kids are few and far between. We are trying to boost funding for our athletics program now, but the rest of major college football has left us in the dust. Our current AD is making up ground from our last horrible AD.

I would love a Neal Brown hire. We need something to differentiate us, and that offense could be a lot of fun.

Looking at recruiting rankings GT has typically been around 50th every year. I bet they could do a little better if they hired a spread guy

The highest we have ever been is in the 20's in 2007, which was Gaileys last year. Every other year has been on par with what Johnson recruited.

That’s a tough gig. Have to take over a team built for the triple option and limited recruits because of academics. But if you can make it work, it’s a good recruiting ground.

I don't know how much time Georgia devotes to the triple option, but you know Kirby Smart is praying they ditch it.

If Stanford can still recruit well, there is no excuse for Georgia Tech to not be able to recruit well. The academic side can be relaxed if the alumni actually start to make some noise.

I almost forgot about the O'Leary years with Godsey as your quarterback. The Dantzler vs Godsey years were unbelievably entertaining football.

I think GT fans have just forgotten what it feels like to have a decent football team. Yall have settled for CPJ for far too long.
