This is pretty surprising. Who does tech go after? Joey Freshwater in Atlanta?

Damn, this is pretty exciting news.

Kind of a unique situation seeing as they'll have to decide if they want to completely change their style of play or not.

Going to be hard to convince a conventional coach to come into a program built on the triple option.

This might be a situation where they hire a recruiter or an older coach while they transition to set them up for their next hire

If they stay with the option, they could throw some pretty coin at the Navy coach

Idk why, but I just assumed he'd be at Navy until he retired

isn't that how they got Paul Johnson in the first place?

and Navy's at the end of a pretty rough season this year

Would be wild watching him try to run his system with the players he'd have there at first

Would have to just cut the whole roster and sign new kids to fit his scheme

GT needs Lane. Time to get some controversy going on the Flats.

It won't be as bad as many think but if someone comes in trying to throw the ball 40+ times a game with our current QBs it will be bad. Just need to call plays that get the QB into good positions to run which is basically all we are doing now, basically a spread offense. We barely even run the triple option at this point

The acc coastal is hilariously bad right now, anyone with a pulse should be able to come in and be competitive

I liked that guy. His teams weren’t always the best but they were always tough. Similar to Bill Snyder’s teams.

Tech needs to burn it down and start over. They could easily compete for recruits here in Georgia if they would get rid of the option.

My dad went to GT for undergrad and grad school. They were my 2nd favorite team growing up, and still are. I couldn't be happier to see PJ retire. frick the triple option.

Brian Bohannon from Kennesaw State would seem to be the perfect fit. Coached at Georgia Southern, Navy, and Georgia Tech and built that program from nothing. They wouldnt have to pay him much and he could keep the same offense.
